Yellow course at Lock 7 (newly updated map)

Went around with Max on a warm sunny day. He actually got kind of tired by the end, not used to the heat (90F or so). Spent lots of time looking at dragon flies, flies, ants, darning needles, a blue heron, more flies, and even more ants. Thanks to Jason and Frank for setting up -- first time for Jason I think.

Yellow course at Tawasentha, with Max

Nicely update map with LIDAR contours (made chiefly by Phil H-T) and nice yellow course by Bob Lange, though some of the control spots made it a bit vegetative. Max mostly had fun spotting bees, ants, flies, frogs, birds, chipmunks, squirrels, and snakes. And eating cookies afterwards. At least two good legs with a through-the-woods route choice that we did; can't say it helped at all. Esp from 13-14 it looked like we could follow a dry stream bed through the medium green ... that didn't work. I picked up max and walked through the tall ferns/blueberry in the dry marsh. Oh well! Approx. 45 mins of the 2 hours was marked by the GPS app as "not moving". Still had fun!
