orienteering race 1:09:53 [5]*** 11.3 km (6:11 / km) +270m 5:31 / km
30c
British Long Champs
Culbin East

Great part of Culbin forest, recently mapped. really fast area with lots of technical bits.
stomach felt abit rough to start with so had to have a pit stop at number 7, that lost me 70s.I was actually in the lead just up until then. I was really scrappy for the rest of the course, wasn't slowing down enough coming into technical bits.
happy to finish 2nd.
hector 1st, rhodri 2nd
Running 10:00 [1]
warm down jog with hector and jack

Friday Apr 18

Note
was hoping to get to roseisle to do some pre-BOC training but i was helping set up the assembly area and we didn't get finished till 7.45.
so just had my dinner instead.

Thursday Apr 17

Gym 53:00 [3]
strenght work

i think i actually saw the most feeble human being ever in the gym today. He was like a real life version of Monty Burns, and if me and CK stood next to him we would have looked like Popeye (post spinach) and John Rambo. well maybe thats going a bit far actually.....
C • Was it in a big mirror? 1
Running intervals 9:00 [4]
2 x 4min
1min jog rec

went at quite a high tempo just to get my legs moving fast, about 85%
had a few locals out from craigmillar cheerleading.
Running (easy) 21:00 [3]
warm up jog, running drills, warm down

Tuesday Apr 15

Running hills 20:00 [4]
25 x 10sec hill sprints

had plenty rest between each, so i could focus on keeping a good posture.
Running (steady) 30:00 [3]
steady pace out to hills then back home.

Monday Apr 14

Running tempo 30:00 [4]
Tempo run. quite alot of hills and marshy ground, and after the long run yesterday my legs were suffering. managed to grind out 30mins but after that i was knackered.
Running (steady) 20:00 [3]
steady back home after tempo

Sunday Apr 13

Running long 1:30:00 [4] 14 km (6:26 / km) +810m 4:59 / km
shoes: walsh pb trainers
Ran round the top of Phaup forestry, via the top of Skelfhill pen on the way out. Never get bored of the view from the top of the pen!
coming down of Lightning hill on the way back, i think i descended the slowest i ever have due to a sea of 'bull snoots'.

C • A sea of 2
