FCC Middle
Gilling Woods.

After studying the map of Gilling Woods i thought it was going to be pretty shite to be honest, but it was actually a really tough Middle race thanks to Barry Speakes planning.

I started off pretty clean only losing about 10s through the first group of technical controls, then the second group (6-12) i was abit more scrappy, losing the most time on 10,11 and 12. 11 i had caught up Ralph and i pushed to get away but i didn't have a good AP so lost about 30s. After that i was chasing him and we had a good race to the finish, he was orienteering better and beat me to the line.

Interesting day with lots of the 18's doing well.

For a change i decided to do a bike intervals session today.

45s easy resistance between each rep.

Also had a sports psychology talk from a guy called Stewart Ollis. He had some good stuff to say and especially got me thinking about ways to approach technical training.

Knackered today, think i could have fell asleep while walking along.

Sun was shining again so i went out for a run in the hope of getting some tan going;)

along peffermill road, past duddingston loch, along road to duddingston, up arthurs seat, pollock ,home.

this is the last time i spend a weekend just running in Edinburgh, i was sooooo bored!, i can easily train through the week but weekend are definetly time for orienteering, fell running.

Uni Portfolio handed in tomorow and one big stress of my shoulders:)
