Finnish Sprint Champ qualification race. Excellent run. Rather simple course. Only problem on 4-5 when after making the decision left or right I for moment thought that there is a fence stopping me. That was not the case I was just reading wrongly the map. Short stop. Rest of the course just I want to do. At ten I saw a guy who started 1 min before. I have lost him on every race this season. That gave me confidence that I'll make to A final without pushing max on the easy part. I was third while entering to easy section and finishing lucky seven on qual. Very good.

Finnish Sprint Champ Final. Running was still strong, but the race was bad. I didn't take enough time for map reading and had difficulties on several legs. On second I did not see the fence. On fifth really poor route choice and on top catastrophic mistake at eleven. Made very easy route choice, but at the end of the leg I ran to wrong side of the building. Lost a minute. Game over. Still lovely day and I'm happy how my ability to run fast is getting better. Even in the evening while playing soccer with kids running felt easy.

Yeah. I can already see the positive effects of morning ice. Huge cramp on right leg. Great.

Ballgames 1:00:00 [2]

Rinkball training. I took carefully considered risk by going to Rinkball training day before Finnish Sprint Champs. Skating is always kind of interval training resulting to either very light legs for running or totally exhausted and stiff legs at least partly depending how hard you take the game. Today I took it easy spending at least as much time on the bench than on the ice and also had only one thought in my mind that tomorrow is my day, not today. No really hard skating at all. Now just stretching and shaking and I'm in flames tomorrow.

Yökuppi in Umpankulma. Good things are that running is giving good signs and I navigated well 1-5. Not so good things are that several mistakes with the group of runners. My light turned off 3 times. Two mistakes came after working with the light to get it on.

Control points were rather difficult to find without reflectors. Easy to miss just by a few meter like I did at ten. Terrain at night feels much more green than one would expect based on the map. Good training anyhow. And hey I was second!
