trail run 2:00:00 [1]

It was National Public Lands Day and to celebrate I headed over to Saguaro East and ran up Tanque Verde Ridge a ways 'n' back. My judgement was that it was too overgrown for fast running. Tall grass hid the ground. Still, it was good for some time outside on a really humid day.

I did my good deed by getting someone's driver license and credit card back to them (they'd dropped them on the trail), running back uphill to do it.

biking 1:00:00 [1]

I rode with my dad down the Rillito from the La Cholla Bridge, parallel to the interstate, then up the Canada del Oro path a ways 'n' back.

It was the last full day of a long summer. I can only assume that it gets better from here!

My trusty steed for the day was my mountain bike with the tires pumped to 40psi because while replacing the brake pads on my road bike, I managed to pull so hard on the cable that the little nub snapped off the end, causing the brake cable to retreat into the inner sanctum of its guide (and of course useless without that little part anyway). A quick inspection of my old Weinmann side-pull brakes (original with the bike and c. 1985) revealed that I was probably due for a whole new set of brakes anyway! I guess that's just what I'll end up doing now although I fear they don't make them like they used to.

street run 40:00 [1]

I was down by the Rillito this morning to watch the sunrise and do some strolling along, which I took pretty easily.
