Run 10:00 [3]
last Tuesday the physio told me to start my runs again for the next couple of weeks and see how i go, so i thought i should actually do one! having said that i was a wee bit sore after work on wednesday and i ran a couple of tracks in the orienteering at the weekend, although that didnt stop Sara from almost beating me!

Was feeling pretty good anyway, after a bit of a warming up.

Orienteering 1:03:41 [2] *** 4.99 km (12:46 / km)
spiked:14/21c
Canty champs. I walked the M21AS grade, having said that i did run a few parts to test my shins. the ones i didnt spike i had a slight hesitation or went the wrong way around the hill or knoll the control was on. no big time losses today. shis were felling like they were handling things not to bad, a bit tender though. i might go for another couple of runs this week, maby try a 10 min run!

Saturday Oct 27

Event: Canterbury champs

Orienteering 47:02 [2] *** 2.8 km (16:48 / km)
spiked:9/12c
Canty champs middle. I ran M21AS. tough map, i was getting very dissorientated at time. the right lack of visability to make it considerably harder. i really ballsed up number 5. i was on track to spike the control, when i decided that things didnt quite look exactly like i imagined, i went back to the next major feature. this just so happened to look more like i had imagined and just to have me sold on the sight there was some marrim grass taped in the exact place that i would have put the control. so after fluffing around for far to long making that spot fit, i decided to have a look and see if i got it right the first time and sure enough it was right were i had thought it would be. being a little pissed at this i proceded to balls up the next one as well. kind of a parralel error as well! Damm little brother beat me, even if it was only by 40 sec and he was running.

At work today we were pegging at a place in Cashmere. it was really steep. was a bit hard on my shin, having to stand still on a major slope was not good, if i didnt get positiond right. just to make things worse i forgot to ice my shin when i got home.

Tried stepping up to a 10 min run last Tuesday. Was feeling good after 6,7 min, but started to feel a little tender towards the end. Was fine afterwards, untill Thursday morning when i got a twinge of pain that was the worst ive had since JWOC. So i havnt done anything since, except iceing it. Im confident that it is not the bone that is giving me trouble any more. It is the muscle that attaches to the lower part of the inside of my right shin, the muscle goes down below my ancle and joins the foot. It is even a bit tender under my ancle. Im going to see the Physio again on monday.

Up Rapaki, and across the top taking all the MTB tracks along the way, and down the anaconda. I was biking a hundred time better this time. Maby it was good to have Tane there to keep me on my toes. He manged to better any fall of mine. It was just a pitty i was infront of him at the time, But i heard him go down. Naturally he manged to get well ahead on the climbs, but i was closer than i thought i would be.
