Jukola 1st leg. Quite nervous before, very good team this year and had the start from last year in the back of my head. I guess this was seen on the HR both on the model event in the morning and during the warm-up.

So cool in the start with all teams. Long way to the starting point this year, even if I go max from the start I am too slow in the beginning, guess I lost some 50-100 places first 100m before I get the speed up and can start pass teams that slow down again, guess I was around 30-40 something at the starting point. Straight into the green at the starting point, so pace slowed considerable and people pushing from backwards made up for a real chaos. Tried to find some own way to avoid the queuing. Took the safe route going right around the hill, seems to have been a little slower compared to straight.

Quite easy first control since it was just to follow the ridge from the road. But
interesting to look at the HR, up in 180 here very close to max, so no wonder people don't think clear and misses in the beginning.

Second control a little more difficult bushing through the green and having people running on all different directions on the other forkings. Small hesitation when I passed one of the forkings but no misstake.

Easy part after that with mostly a long train of runners. Next difficult part was to nr 9 where I had my largest misstake of about 20 s going a little too long towards the other forking. Kept the end of the train and passed the arena around 20, as the last in the first group.

No major difficulties after the arena passage but didn't have the physical form today to move up in the train so lost some time in the end when the first guys started to push really hard and create some gaps in the train.

Changed over as 21st, +1.35 (J Lysell had a gap of 46 s).

Some really good runs from the rest of the guys in the team, but Mats had a really day at work and lost a little too much time. We finished 9th in the end, but we have really showed now that we can fight in the top, we just need to hold it together all the way.

Time for Jukola-again. Proud to be part of a very strong Linné-team, good mix of old and younger. Almost the same team as last year when we was 4th so really looking forward to do even better this year.
