| More practice selecting distinguishing features in the landscape, selecting likely routes as legs between them, and (with eyes closed) visualizing those routes from leg to leg. |
Wednesday Nov 28 |
 | Walk 10:00 [1] | |
| |
| 5 minute warm up, 5 minute cool down |
 | Running tempo 26:00 [3] | |
| |
| 26 minute tempo run in dusk-to-dark, taking the run off the gravel trails of Forest Park onto the grass at least to simulate real trail conditions. Felt good tonight, though still shaking off the lingering cold I came down with after I spent myself on the Turkey-O. |

| Looking over the Babler map again, practicing quick-reads with a glance at the map for a route through three legs, putting it away, and visualizing the route leg by leg in my head. |

| 15 minutes of practice gauging distance and visualizing terrain with Rock Creek State Park map. I also practiced quickly guestimating whether a direct route with climb would be "longer" than an indirect route without climb (with rule of thumb that 15 meters of climb equals 100 meters of flat distance). |
