Map hike 30:00 [1]
rhr:50 weight:177lbs
30 minute map walk/orienteering with Bob (my 5 year old)! I traced the road going through Laumeier sculpture park, drew two houses for buildings, and two big "S"s for distinctive sculptures, with the houses and sculptures as our controls. Then we did a map walk along the road. I gave some tips along the way, helping him orient the map to the surroundings, and doing a "Dora" (parking lot, intersection, sculpture, say it with me! parking lot, intersection, sculpture!). At each control, I hid a couple of scrabble letters, which he'd find and write down. When we finished, the letters spelled out a prize I'd get him on the way home. All around a fun afternoon!

Running long 1:00:00 [2]
One hour long run at Chubb Trail, from the Chubb Trail shelter, over the hill, across the tracks, and along the river and back. Good stuff. I didn't have to slow to a walk. Just think! a few months back I was looking forward to finishing a 60 minute run as my longest run, and now it's the long run for my "rest" week. Seeing progress!
