Wednesday Jan 30 | ||
| Walk 20:00 [1] | ||
| (sick) | ||
| 10 minute walk to campus, 10 minute walk back.
Some notes from the future! (Well, from Monday, looking back on this day.) No symptoms I can call a cold, but the second half of the week I feel like I'm using all my energy to fight something off. Just no energy to work out. Laying low for a few days, with short walks, light yoga, stretching.
Tuesday Jan 29 | ||
| Active stretching (Power Yoga) 20:00 [2] | ||
| 20 minutes Power Yoga this morning. It's getting easier, though I'm taking it easy this week so I'm keeping all my work out sessions to about 2/3 what I usually do. | ||
| Walk warm up/down 17:00 [1] | ||
| 10 minute warm up, 7 minute cool down | ||
| Running tempo 30:00 [4] | ||
| 30 minute run from 4:45 to 5:15. A blustery day with winds from the northwest at a steady 30 miles an hour. The run out was a free-wheeling sprint-run. I didn't see a soul out at Forest Park and felt like the only one out there.
The run-back was a slog with plenty of resistance training against the wind. Wasn't terribly cold, just windy, and my only complaint is getting hit in the eye with the stem of a leaf. Ouch! All in all a good run! Brings to mind reason #52 for when you know you're an orienteer ... when a weather forecast of storm, wind, and flood for the weekend reminds you of a fun time you once had in the woods.
Monday Jan 28 | ||
| Active stretching 20:00 [1] | ||
| 20 minutes yoga for recovery, with deep, but low-intensity stretching, especially for hips and glutes. Also icing my tired knees. | ||

| Walk 20:00 [1] | ||
| 10 minute walk in morning, 10 minute walk in afternoon. | ||
