Roller derby 1:15:00 [5]

Fastest, hardest bout I've ever played in. Amazing players- racer mc chaser and cookie!!! Racer and boon played with us. We tried to keep up but never could. They controlled the game from the start. We didn't keep our lines very well. They were broken up quickly. Need to work on switching from offense to defense quicker. Learned so much. Keep walls. Stay low. Hitting was not as affective. Their skills avoid or took the hit. Positional blocking was really the most effective. Forgot to wear heart rate monitor.

Roller derby 1:00:00 [4]

Scrimmage with the Diamonds. Great learning experience. Tired but good game. Jammed 3 times. Got points:)
Good at keeping lines and controlling the speed.
No penalties at all today :)
Ankle started to swell from fall down the stairs earlier this afternoon.

Roller derby 40:00 [3]
ahr:137 max:186

It had been awhile since I've skated at the work gym. Did laps, quick toe stops over the line-both directions, lateral movements to block Riku, 3 sets of 1.5 min circuits of falls and getting up quick.
344 cals. 21 minutes in zone.

Roller derby 1:15:00 [3]
ahr:140 max:192

Finally remembered heart rate monitor. Mira came to practice to check it out. I was hoping she'd get hooked but im afraid hockey it in her roots too far.
Warm up, stops, lateral movement, momma hen, monster.
In zone for 38 min. 800 cals burned.

Yoga (Esther cool down) 15:00 [1]

Esther did some yoga for the cool down. Was nice to actually stretch after a practice :)

Note
(sick)

Still sick from trip. Will go get antibiotics Saturday I guess. This upset stomach makes it hard to jog or workout.

Wednesday Mar 6, 2013 #

Roller derby 1:30:00 [3]

Warm up - stake, transition, over and over.
Skate fast- right knee, left knee, double knee. Get up fast. Skully forwards backwards. Cutting one one foot- horrible at it.
Leaning and pushing.
Work on communicating when hitting a middle girl. Move out of way when other hits, be sure to talk to one another.
Wall of three, one girl to push and help jammer through.
Scrimmage. Work on making jammer tired. Positional blocking keeps us more controlled than just hitting all over the place.

Monday Mar 4, 2013 #

Roller derby 1:30:00 [3]

Start with 1 min skate fast, 1 minute skill- for about 10minutes? Then blocking drills. Then scrimmage. Good practice. Most people out in a long time.
