Sunday Feb 10

orienteering race 1:13:00 [4] ***** 8.7 km (8:23 / km)
spiked:12/18c shoes: VJ Falcons
superb orienteering at Darnaway
probably the best area i will run on all year
shame i was so rubbish and rusty
lost 3.5 mins on a 300m leg
probably lost 5-6 mins in total combined with the long distance slow running
hopefully i will get my technique sorted next weekend

perhaps clung to paths a bit too much
going for energy saving as forest was tiring and it was pretty long

Saturday Feb 9

skiing at cairngorm
i wouldn't normally count skiing as training but this was slightly different!
it was so windy that at one stage i was being blown back up the hill and the lack of good snow made gravel or 'scrubbing' a problem
i think i completely wrecked the hire skis
it was a shame as the finicular railway had to close due to high winds (80mph) just as i was starting to really get the hang of carving my turns.
we got a refund then went mountainbiking

a great (wind free) afternoon of some pleasant cycling along the tracks.
there were several river fords which made it quite exciting

Friday Feb 8

orienteering 1:10:00 [3] ***** 4 km (17:30 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons
decided to go up north for a weekend
map of the month orienteering in Ballavil, day two of the six day
very technical on the side of the hill also extremely windy but with superb views
mountain biking 2:10:00 [3] 16 km (8:08 / km)
shoes: cannondale mountain bike shoes
mountain biking at laggan wolftrax
really good especially as there is a whole new bit been added on
great views and pretty tired now

Thursday Feb 7

running 45:00 [4] 6.5 mi (6:55 / mi)
shoes: Nike air trail pegasus+
exams finished but still on exam leave so decided to go for a run around cragie park
getting a few strange looks, people thought i should be at school

concert awful
our conductor had to leave and everything went wrong
