Nolde Forest (real 7.79k (+16%), 328m climb (wow!))

First time out in a month! Bad. Major change in undergrowth. Nolde is excellent ... I love the different feel of the place. I need to spend some more time there checking the park out.

I was slow, and made a couple of big route errors. No problems in the control areas for a change, just fought through too much for the sake of the line.

Errors:
0:30 - 1>2, lost contact, not used to map yet
3:00 - 3>4, coming out of 3, wrong turn, too much fight (RouteGadget is clear)
2:00 - 6>7, hesitation, then missed the indistinct trail and lost contact
1:30 - 8>9, overran turnoff for bridge, which was disappointing as I had made a point to glance at 9 from 3>4
0:30 - 9>10, low, looking for trail (didn't learn lesson on 6>7), hesitation

7:30 TOTAL (probably another 5 for current fitness level ... that was a fair amount of climb)

Really fun, I'm glad Hughmac3 dragged me out!

Walking/Hiking (Backpack With June) 1:00:00 [1]
shoes: Adidas adiZero XT

Awesome time walking in Crum Woods with June in the backpack. We saw fish, dogs, flowers, trees, birds, bugs, and even some humans. The coolest thing we saw was a very large frog or toad that leaped into the water as we went past. June was very excited (as was her dad).

The devastation from the sewer replacement is amazing ... but actually could be pretty neat in a few years. We'll see.

We ran around in the amphitheater for a while too, which is always fun.

Note

Softball on Franklin Field. Played first base pretty well, my new favorite position. Only batted once, flied out to right field. At least it was cross field. We got crushed, but it was still fun.
