Running the King Kong 1/2 mile Loop in Crum Woods in fresh snow, about 15". A break in the storm, so I headed to the woods to see how it handled the storm. First one there! Brutal ... finally started to get easier after about 8 laps.

30F or so, but quite windy, even in the woods. Gear was excellent!!

Glad for some snow! Felt like winter out there, for a change.

Ouch, my knees are aching from that run for some reason.

33-34F, moderate wind (~4/8g), mostly sunny. Full kit worked just right at race pace: hat on or off, gloves mittened or not, coat partly unzipped or not.

Whew, cold. Good day to HTFU! :)

Did some clothing testing ... I think I'm pretty good down to to 20F or so with little wind, 25F with a touch of wind, 30F with wind. Today was 25F or so with pretty strong winds.

Normal shorts & shirt, + glittens, wind pants & jacket, hat. Wrists got cold until I pulled my hands into my sleeves, which worked fine.

4 laps on the Crum / Smedley loop, middle 2 with Steve Tucker, which was fun but got me going too fast. A PR is always cool, but bad training right now.

Saw hughmac3 several times which was great. He's doing something looong, and looked really good.
