First recovery jog/walk after Eastern States. A few alligator rock hills, reminiscing about the hell of Eastern States, and thinking (again) about ways to get it (or some other equally grueling race) done next year.
Recovering very well ... my worse remaining things are, oddly:
acne like a 15-year-old -- who has bad acne, which I never really had as a 15-year-old ... maybe I'm getting younger, like Merlin
prickly heat on my back (from under my wet hydration pack)
The prickly heat was intense and surprising, but is now almost gone. My skin was super-sensitive to heat and sweat, would 'prickle' (like shocks!) at the slightest provocation.
No idea why I got the acne. I assume it was just dirty conditions for too long, combined with stress, or whatever. It's embarrassingly slowly healing.
Keeping the legs up as much as possible, eating, hydrating. Had a nice time at the shore yesterday, and the icy waters (they really were icy!) felt amazing. I think another ice bath is in order this evening.
