Running long (2 x Smedley 3mi) 1:50:31 [1] 9.04 mi (12:14 / mi) +822ft 11:15 / mi
shoes: Topo MT-2 (10) Brown

2 very easy Smedley laps in full gear, including poles. I should go nice and slow like this more often. I heard birds and insects; saw fish, a toad, birds, a woodpecker nest (again, by the woodchips below); enjoyed myself more. Particularly in this heat / humidity.

Sweat string rules!

Running long (Work to Home) 1:24:38 [3] 9.0 mi (9:24 / mi) +438ft 8:59 / mi
weight:156.8lbs shoes: New Balance RC1400v4 10D

HTFU training, in case Eastern States. So hot. 94F at end (index 100F). Brutally good stuff!

Still a bit sniffly, but basically better.

Note
(sick)

I seem to have caught a cold. I felt fine, if tired, at the end of the day yesterday, and by the time I got home I felt kind of lousy, with a light headache and fairly (for me) runny nose. Tossy-turny poor sleep. Kind of glad I had no time to work out today.

Current main symptoms: sinus ache, general light head and body ache.

Running hills (Dreadmill 15%) 43:58 [2] 2.53 mi (17:23 / mi) +1508ft 11:06 / mi
weight:158.6lbs shoes: New Balance RC1400v4 10D

So hot, couldn't get myself out the door, so Dreadmill. Mostly walking ... 10 min jog warmup, then 33:58 of 15% grade (1500'). Started the climb at 18/mi, slowed to 20/mi, which was quite sustainable / relaxed. 18 was pushing it a bit, although my HR was still low.
5 PM

Walking/Hiking warm up/down 24:00 [1] 1.51 mi (15:53 / mi) +64ft 15:16 / mi
weight:159.8lbs

Train was stopped at the Morton station for some reason anyway, so I took it as a sign. Sweaty walk home.

Note

Hardrock 100 14th and 15th. I paced a couple of times for Steve Tucker, who finished (hooray!), in 37:57. It was amazing, and quite the learning experience. I'll write up more soon, with pictures.
