10 AM

Running 1:44:53 [3] 10.3 mi (10:11 / mi) +1892ft 8:40 / mi
shoes: Topo Athletics MT-2 (10) Blue

Some Ridley Creek miles with friends. It was a bit fast on the hills after yesterday, but good time chatting and etc. Rainy but warm.

Another 'stop but forget to start' watch failure. Silly me.

Running long (2 x Heinz + 4mi) 2:32:27 [3] 18.06 mi (8:26 / mi) +67ft 8:25 / mi
shoes: Salomon S-Lab Sense 5 Ultra

Another gorgeous Saturday ... pushed it on this long to verify some theories ... verified! Felt good, tons of folks out, windy but warm. #runtopless #negativesplits

A branch hit the start/stop on my watch with 0.2mi or so to go in the second lap and it took me 27 seconds to notice (luckily only). It infuriated me (to irrational levels) ... I was on a PR for the loop: 57:16 for the 7 slippery miles. Of course that was only my 5th time ever running it ... ;) 27 seconds 'stopped' ... grumble. Hah!

Ended at a great fishing spot!!

Thursday Jan 25 #

11 AM

Running 1:05:33 [3] 8.02 mi (8:10 / mi) +148ft 8:02 / mi
shoes: New Balance RC1400v4 10D #2

Dreadmill. Dreadfully innacurate watch.

2x 10min/5min strides at sub-7s, varying down to 6s, somethin like:

20 min warmup @ avg 9:15s
8.5 min @ 6:57s
1.5 min @ 6:00s
5 min @ 9s
5 min @ decreasing 6:57s > 6:40s one button push every minute
5 min @ 6:40s (that's as low as I felt I could go and maintain at that point)
remainder at 9s > 8:30s

Annoying to have to write that all down ... should have just gone outside, but didn't have a long sleeve shirt or anything else, and it was colder than expected.

Tuesday Jan 23 #

12 PM

Running (5 x Cemetery) 50:54 [2] 5.74 mi (8:52 / mi) +258ft 8:30 / mi
shoes: Inov-8 Trailroc 150

Creaky at the start, felt good after a couple. Perfect, perfect, day! #runtopless

Note

Tired today. And hungry. Happily, it was Tailgate Chili Cookoff at work today (yes, I only greedily ate chili, didn't bring any) ... mmm. So full. And yet my legs are still hungry! I can feel it!

Rest is good.
