| Run w/ Kristoffer in Lebanon. For some reason I was feeling nervous about my training, making myself anxious and in turn was having issues with my breathing. I think we started out too fast, but after about 25 mins I calmed down and the rest of the run was fine. Still fast, HR was probably up around 160 for most of the way! | ||

| Second day. Got out there early, not quite first chair, though. WIndy today, chilly on the face, but warm otherwise, lots of edge skiing and carving runs. legs were certainly getting tired. Last few runs were downright painfull, stopping every 20m or so on the steep deep "powder" stuff. | ||

| I know! I know!! But seriously, this is a workout. Especially the second day out, last run, you're feeling it.
My mom and I went to Mont Tremblant, Quebec. It's an hour north of Montreal. Big mountain, Killington size probably. Conditions weren't great, lots of ice in the middle of the trail where everyone else skis. But we are the type that like the edges where everyone pushes the powder so we had it good. Still wish that the skis were sharper, though. Skied the glades a bunch, lots of edges of trails and several big carving runs. A good day. | ||

| Adventure race 40 mins north of Tampa, Florida. Raced with Joe B. John Vitti and John Hartley. Lots of mtn biking, canoe paddling, trekking and orienteering.
Started at 7am Sat. morning and finished around 10:30am Sunday. The night was chilly and we were wet from swamp stomping, but it still went by fairly quickly. Sunrise was certainly appreciated though. The saw palmetto was not. | ||

| Kristoffer and I tried going to an o-meet at Beaver Brook, but it was cancelled, but we got some maps and went training anyway. Kristoffer had control of the map most of the time, so I can't say that I was really orienteering, more like just following, but it was nice to be crashing through the woods again.
Tough running, though, crusty snow that held you up only sometimes, but a beautiful sunny day! | ||

| Easy snowshoe hike with Kristoffer up near Lebanon. We were trying to get onto this particular open ridge, but there was an unexpectadely HUGE fenced in area of a private game hunting reserve. So we did an out and back thing, mostly on snowmobile packed trails, with some deep powder trailbreaking stuff in the middle.
It was a beautiful clear day and all the trees still had snow stuck to them and there was probably over a foot of fresh powder! | ||

| Easy night run with Kristoffer. Ran almost to Loudon, which is far! It was kind of an out and back with a small loop on the end. Very nice, rolling roads that took us right from concord, over the river and out to the countryside.
Legs and lungs felt really good. Nice cruising pace, but my HR stayed low. | ||

| I haven't run with snowshoes yet this year, and really only once before in my life, so it took some getting used to, having these big ankle biter/ lead weights attached to my feet.
I definitely didn't have a sufficient warmup so the first half mile was excruciating and I got passed, a lot. But after warming up and hitting some good hills, I started passing them back. There was a lot of single track and a huge line of people that couldn't pass so we ended up just hiking a lot of the hill. Eventually I passed 'em and then could fly on the wide open groomed downhills, passing a few girls and coming in 4th female overall. I think I could've gone harder up the hills if I wasn't stuck behind so many people, but, I'm still sore and it was certainly a good workout! | ||

| Kristoffer and I went on a night run around Concord. It's about a 10mi? loop. The last time we ran it, it was freezing cold and we could do nothing but shuffle along, but this time we were flying! My legs felt really good and my HR stayed high the whole time, but I didn't have much of a problem talking, so that's a good sign. | ||

| Kristoffer and I went for a night run around logging trails (now snowmobile trails) in Plainfield, just outside Lebanon. Running in the snow was tough, uneven from the snowmobile tracks and soft. The whole run was pretty hilly and once we got on the paved road and my legs loosened up I started feeling better. I tried to push more on the hills than normal, mostly to keep up with Kristoffer. By the time we crested the last hill and could see the truck, my legs felt like lead weights. But other than my hip hurting, hip flexor I guess, I feel pretty good. | ||
