Wednesday Jun 30

Running 55:00 [3]
Run to E. Concord and along the Merrimack River. Beautiful Conservation land with nature trails through swampy flood zone type terrain.

Tuesday Jun 29

Hiking 25:00 [3]
Hike back up the mountain, about 3/4 mile? back to the van. It was hot, my HR was up there and I'm still beat from the weekend, i think.

I know, I know, another lame entry, but I ....nevermind, no excuses, I'm considering it a workout and that's it.

Monday Jun 28

Unspecified 45:00 [2]
Basketball, really, lots of little sprints.

Sunday Jun 27

Running 22:00 [3]
Easy recovery run. Much needed, I was very sore and extremely tired after Sat.'s race. It was a very slow run.

Saturday Jun 26

Adventure race (Northfield Sprint) 3:30:00 [4]
Sprint race, 4 hour, Northfield Mtn, MA

Raced for Team Timex, with Walter. Most of the way were in 7th place, 3rd co-ed, through a 3 mi paddle, 3mile run and 7.5 mi bike. But then! there was a 5 mi orienteering leg, thanks Joe, which we smoked to come in 1st overall! I don't think the smile on my face ever went away that whole 5 miles!
The whole race was a lot of fun, now that I'm getting the hang of this AR thing. Still learning a lot in the process, which is great.

Saturday Jun 19

Running 40:00 [3]
Run/hike up to the sweetest spire in all of NH. Overlooking the Balsams Resort in Colebrook, NH, and the white mtns to the south east, gorgeous.

Thursday Jun 17

Road biking 45:15 [3]
ahr:142 max:164
Easy-ish road ride, too short, standing alone, so I decided to throw a run in there, too. Kinda like practicing for triathlons!
Running 41:12 [3]
ahr:158 max:175
Transition was kind of slow, as I changed outfits, and then it took me a good 20 mins to start feeling good running (cramps went away and legs started feeling fresh-er). Someday I'll do a real triathlon.

Tuesday Jun 15

Running 1:28:00 [3]
ahr:167 max:179
A hot, dehydrated run. The entire run was spent drooling over the small, gross, not quite dried up streams on the side of the road, just to give you an idea of how thirsty i was. It made me run faster though, just t o get home sooner.

Monday Jun 14

Kayaking 45:00 [2]
I borrowed my mom's tank of a kayak and took to the Merrimack River in Concord. Found a sweet little side river turned almost swamp that was full of wildlife (turns out it's a wildlife preserve or conservation area, go figure)

Saturday Jun 12

Mtn Biking 1:00:00 [2]
Borrowed my uncles BMX bike and rode around watching their Adventure Race in Portland, ME. This might be my next purchase, it was so much fun to ride around on! I just have to get some shin pads-I dinged my shins pretty bad trying to bunny hop.

Thursday Jun 10

Running (hill intervals) 35 [3]
Hill workout today! I did 2x90sec, 2x45sec and 2x30 sec. felt good and even the 90 sec ones went by pretty quickly.

Saturday Jun 5

Adventure race 5:08:00 [4] 20.0 mi (15:23 / mi)
Genesis Sprint in Hartford, CT

Raced co-ed for Team Timex with Bill. Due to some unfortunate mechanicals (4 flats) and a super huge error on the orienteering section and several others on the mtn bike, we (and our other Timex male team) ended up getting nearly 45mins behind the leaders. BUT, on the last paddling section, we made up about 25 minutes to come in 4th co-ed, only 1.5mins from 2nd.

Overall, it was a hell of a lot more fun than the App. Extreme and I finally finished a race! Definitely need to improve my nav on topo maps, though...I suppose I should do some rogaines.

Breakdown of the race (roughly):
400m run
13mi bike
5mi run orienteering
2mi bike
1mi run memory-o
2mi paddle (instead of paddling, we ran 1mi to a CP, which was much faster than paddling UP the CT River!! (so it was really only a mile paddle))

Wednesday Jun 2

Running 40:00 [3]
ahr:156 max:181
Just a run. felt good to get the legs moving
