| Road biking 45:00 [3] | ||
| Saturday: Had to park far away from the beach, since we're not residents of the town, we weren't allowed inside the gate. Then rode to the beach, got some sun and rode back to the car to head to dinner and maybe a movie.
Got sidetracked by some old friends of Kristoffers and ended up at a metal concert in New Bedford. Sunday am: Got back to Dartmouth and parked the car again and rode back to the beach around 1:30am. (We had planned on staying on the beach that night.) Snuck in through some really nice backyards! Got very little sleep due to bugs, bright moon, birds, cold, then hot, then bright sun. Got up, snuck back out through peoples backyards and rode back to the car. Went for a nice breakfast, a nice walk through the dockyards, shopping for sailboats! THen rode back to the beach and proceeded to fry ourselves in the hot sun for the rest of the day! It was an awesome weekend.

| Kristoffer and I went down to Dartmouth, MA for a weekend at the beach and riding around on flat ground.
The ride was awesome, nice and rolling and beautiful weather! My legs feel good, too. All that "training" watching the Tour paid off.

| Orienteering race 29:01 [4] | ||
| Sprint #1 at Ahern State Park, Laconia, NH
Fun races put on by Jim Arsenault. I'm a little rusty on the navigation as I made SEVERAL errors that were over a minute on this first course. Just wasn't reading the map or the compass (which obviously ends in multiple minute errors.) Felt good to run fast in teh woods again, though, especially after doggin' it through teh woods yesterday. (And I could totally feel that my legs and whole body was fatigued from yesterday's race, too.)
| Orienteering 25:05 [3] | ||
| Sprint #2 at Ahern
This race went more smoothly, though I was still slow. I just don't have the leg speed. I'm glad I'm not running the sprint at WOC!! It's still fun, though...
Saturday Jul 16 | ||
| Adventure race race 3:13:00 [4] | ||
| Genesis Sprint race at Northfield Mtn, MA
Joe B and I had a good race. Led the co-ed field from the begining and held it for a 35+ min lead over 2nd place overall, getting ahead of the all male team on the tough CP "C". Got to go rock climbing up to "C", and mtb some nice dirt track downhills! Nice fun short race. Nice work Joe!

| Kristoffer came down to Manchester and we rode all the singletrack trails at Massabesic in under 2 hours! We were crankin' through there, and I was certainly fatigued by the end. Today (the 14th) my body definitely tells me I had a good workout yesterday. | ||

| Running 45:00 [3] | ||
| ahr:157 max:179 weight:109.5lbs shoes: Asics GT 1200 | ||
| Went up to Lebanon with Kristoffer to buy new shoes!! The second ones I tried on felt like the belonged on my feet so I got 'em! Then we headed over to Burnt Mtn in Hanover and tested out the new shoes on the trails there. They're fast, though I wasn't moving as fast as I feel I should be. (Should've bought faster shoes...that's obviously the problem.) No, my stomache wasn't feeling so hot, but we finished up the run fairly strong. It felt good to run in the woods and on nice bumpy, winding trails. | ||
| Swimming 25:00 [3] | ||
| Kristoffer's gym is right across the road from Burnt Mtn. so we went there for a swim, hot tub and shower. It was nice to be back there, what a nice and relaxing gym. It also felt good to be back swimming in a pool again. The lake is nice, but I hate the black murky bottom... | ||
Monday Jul 11 | ||
| Running 1:01:00 [3] | ||
| ahr:157 max:177 shoes: Adidas Response | ||
| Easy run with Kristoffer down the road to explore the trails that possibly lead to the Norsk Ski Touring center. We found them! Well, there's still more exploring to do, but we saw ski trail signs, so that's a good start. Hopefully we can find a way to ski right from our house over to the trails. | ||
Sunday Jul 10 | ||
| Running 26:00 [3] 3.1 mi (8:23 / mi) | ||
| ahr:157 max:172 shoes: Adidas Response | ||
| Easy run around the lake once. Beautiful day this morning! Lots of other people running or walking around this loop, too. (There're many summer people in this area.) | ||
| Road biking 1:10:00 [3] | ||

| Road ride with Tora and Mom. Nice day for an easy ride and fun to be out with these guys! Mom just finished the Genesis 12-hr yesterday so she was kind of beat, but I didn't mind, it was nice to go an easier pace. | ||
Sunday Jul 3 | ||
| XTerra race 3:03:12 [5] 24.82 mi (7:22 / mi) | ||
| 1k swim - 19:28
18 mile bike - 1:49:14 10k run - 54:30 126th/388 total 16th/74 female (including pro's) 1st/6 in my division Race went well. Swim felt good and smooth, transition to bike also felt smooth, except for nearly crashing into a tree trying to put my glove on. The bike course went a lot faster than yesterday, which I was certainly pleased about, and was a lot of fun to ride! I pushed a lot of the course that I could, wherever there wasn't a huge roadblock of bikers stuck in tight spaces or backed up at technical sections, or fallen off a tight switchback. Finally back at the TA, the transition to run was also smooth and it felt sooooo good to get off my bike and run! I passed a ton of people, women, men, just shuffling along, cramping or what, I don't know. But I felt good. The heat definitely got to me though, and the last mile was completely exhausting. Thank god for the 4 water stops that the volunteers set up! Otherwise I think I would have died. At the last 3/4 mile mark, I could see the finish line and rather than motivating me to run faster, I kind of blew up and didn't feel like moving anymore. I need to work on this part of my mental training. Rather than losing the woman that I was running just behind, I should have been more motivated to finish strong and actually passed her...but I didn't! Grr.

| Mtn Biking 2:45:00 [3] | ||
| ahr:155 max:178 | ||
| Pre-ride mtn bike course. This is a very long course. It has everything. Not too many hills, but lots of transitions. Switchbacks, single track, dirt track, rocks, roots, loose gravel, dry river-rock kind of a "slick-rock" section, highway bridge, grass trail, paved road...everything! And lots of poison ivy. | ||
