Running 31:30 [3]
ahr:160 max:184
Loki and I went for a night road run, paved and gravel. I think I actually ran on my own for less than 1/8th of a mile though. Loki's need to "go go go" apparently overwhelms the uncomfortableness of the gentle leader rubbing on his snout as he pulls. (Despite any "Heel" command I give!)
Had to stop and get off the road a few times to avoid the speeding traffic on the back roads, of course I didn't have anything reflective or ligthed on other than the headlamp, so noone could see us. Saw a beautiful shooting star though!

Mtn Biking 1:00:00 [3]
Finally got the bike out for a ride. Found some woods and trails in haverhill, but they weren't that sweet. (Could hardly see the trail with all the downed leaves on the ground!) Got turned around on some old logging roads that I thought were the mtn bike trails, but they just fizzled out and were hugely crappy. So we bike-whacked for a while, til we finally got back on teh main trail, and finally found the real singletrack trails... what a mess. (I'm going to blame the crappy map for it!)
The bike is AWESOME! Too bad it's $2200. Full sus and it's almost lighter than my hardtail.

Event: WCOC DuO #3, Huntington

Note
Sorry we couldn't make it Joe. We were all set to go, just couldn't get up at 3:15am apparently.
Instead we lounged around the house for awhile and then went to the lumber yard to finally build the shelves in our coat closet, to the hardware store to get some pumpkins, to the local butchers to get dinner, and then to the bike shop in town that we haven't even been to yet (and we've lived here for a year!) A miserable drenching rain all day...got soaked just getting in and out of the car that much.

Soccer 40:00 [4]
Lost 2-1. My head wasn't really into the game and my legs and feet still were tired and hurting from this weekend! Got to get my game back for saturday since there's going to be SOOO much competition! What do i get when I win the series Joe?

Tuesday Oct 23

Running 8:57 [3] 1.3 mi (6:53 / mi) +10m 4:11 / km
Pouring rain and hard to see past the raindrops in the dark, but I had to do SOMETHING. A measly 1.3 mile around the block sounded good enough. Loki had fun dashing through the puddles. He got to wear his new jacket, which kept him a teeny bit dryer! I didn't stay very dry at all.
C • why bother? 7

Sunday Oct 21

Note
Mowed the lawn, (thankfully our lawnmower propels itself, otherwise I don't think my legs would have been able to do this!)
And cut up a few of the many downed trees on our property. Hauling brush down the the brushpile was exhausting.
Then Chris came up to drop off his sea kayaks for us to store (use) while he's in Boulder for an indefinite amount of time. One of them is a two person boat with a hatch for Loki to sit in! We'll have to try it out on the Conn. River sometime.!

Ultimate race (Tournament) 5:00:00 [4]
Homebrew Tournament, put on by Vermont Law School, Queechee, VT

played 5 games, (each game is roughly 1.5hrs long, and we sub out quite often (short breaks), so I decided about 5 hours of actual work was appropriate)
won 4 quite decisively, but ended up 2nd in the tournament by losing the last game. By the last game I was definitely fatigued, my feet were hurting after not being used to being in cleats for that long, and wet socks didn't help. I suppose the cups of free Magic Hat didn't really help either! Sometimes it does, but I think by this point in teh day, it only made me that much more tired.
Today (monday) I'm still sore and legs are quite tired. Have to go on a site walk (hilly one too.. ) not looking forward to it. It was worth it though, a lot of fun, and I played pretty well for my first tournament! Oh, I had an awesome layout too! Though my ribs are very sore now. :o)

Ultimate 1:00:00 [4]
Won 11-10, got two points... getting better overall!

Wednesday Oct 10

Soccer 45:00 [4]
Knee was hurting, couldn't sprint too much. I'll try to get a good warm up before ulitmate, see if that helps.

Tuesday Oct 9

Ultimate 50:00 [4]
Lost this time, 12-13. Didn't play so well today, my IT band seems to be acting up. I thought it was just my knee hurting from when Loki barrelled into me at the Boulder Dash (not looking where he was running while fetching frisbees), but it is hurting more and more lately.. :o(

Mtn Biking 2:45:00 [3]
Finally got up to Kingdom Trails!!! What a fantastic area! Kristoffer, Loki and a friend, Joe, who recently moved from CT to NH, and I headed up midday for a few hours, and ended up getting completely soaked in the afternoon rain. I've never been to this place, but after hearing all the hype, I was so excited to get to ride it. And, unlike many things that get super hyped, this one lived up to it's expectations, and more. Anyway, I'll stop being their spokeswoman... But, honestly, I don't know of any place better in the US that could hold a World Mtn Bike O Champs!!! The maze of singletrack, and double track is awesome. And nothing super rocky, so you can just crank.
This was the first real time that Loki's been mtn biking, too, so K and I were interested to see how he'd do....no problem at all! He stayed right with us, just in front of the group, didn't run away when we stopped and, though wiped by the end, was ready to play frisbee again when we got home!
Excellent day.

Frisbee... got two "goals"? "Touchdowns" "points" ? I'm still not up on teh lingo.

Wednesday Oct 3

Soccer 45:00 [4]
Yay! Indoor season started up again this week! First game, and we won! Without subs, and then down a player due to a sprained ankle in the second half. So kind of a good start. I played defense the whole time, i'm a little rusty. But ultimate defintely helped the sprinting endurance and lung capacity!

Tuesday Oct 2

Ultimate 1:00:00 [3]
I don't actually remember the score for this game... but I think we won.
