Orienteering 1:13:53 [4]
North American Champs, Day 1. An ok run, nothing spectacular. The terrain isn't like anyting we have in NH, that's for sure.

Monday May 24

Mtn Biking 3:00:00 [4]36.0 mi (4:59 / mi)
Back in the race, after 12 hours of incredible sleep, we got back on the bikes for a 36 mile road ride up to Errol, NH and into Maine. Quite hilly, but sooooo much better than that 100 + mile ride the day before becuase there were things to look at, cars that passed, houses, people and of course the photographer that was following us that Joe almost took out.
Hiking 6:00:00 [3]13.0 mi (27:40 / mi)
The final trek to the finish. Mostly hiking and bushwacking. Joe was an incredible navigator and I learned a lot just by following and watching what he was doing. And apparently, its good to know surveying because the first CP was on a county boundry with a nice boundry marker (seemingly in the middle of nowhere). We caught up with another team at this CP and they followed us the rest of the way, which was really nice, becuase it gave both of our teams some company and comfort in knowing we weren't the only ones out here in the middle of Maine, and come checking on the navigation. By 7pm, the race was finially over, at Sunday River with us running as fast as we could down the ski slope to the finish line and some pizza, beers and the hot tub.
