Orienteering race (Long Dist.) 1:33:00 [4] *** 8.8 km (10:34 / km)

This was another great challenging course, with even nicer woods! This time they were really wide open, not much green at all. LOTS of climb though.
I did not have a good race at all. I felt tired physically from saturday and my ability to navigate wasn't there. I probably could've taken about 15-20 mins off my time!! ouch. The deer flies were horrendous too, which didn't help the concentration.
AND! I lost my footpod... :o( sniff sniff. So frustrating.
Overall, though, it was a fantastic weekend, great weather, woods, organization, maps etc! We'll be back next year, and not only to retain our 3-legged world string-o champions status!

Orienteering race (Middle) 49:58 [4] *** 4.4 km (11:21 / km)
ahr:165 max:181

Great course, great map, great woods (most of the time). Today there was a few areas with slashy stuff, where I took a fantastic faceplant, injuring my OTHER toe! dammit. Took me a bit to get up, make sure I wasn't broken, compose myself, walk it off, then continue running (a bit slower than usual). The rest of the course was fine, though I didn't feel that I was running very quickly.

Orienteering race (Sprint) 17:00 [4] ***

I didn't start my watch until 2/3 of the way trhough, and don't have the map in front of me, so I can't remember all the stats. Sorry.
Great sprint course, challenging amounts of climb, and after running my heart out this morning, eating an hour before the run, then napping 3/4 of an hour before my run, then waking up 20 mins before starting....I wasn't moving too fast. Made several errors, one large one costing me probably a minute, drrrr.... stupid. Oh well, it was fun!

Orienteering race (W3LSOC) 10:00 [3]

World 3-Legged String-O Championships

Nick Duca set a very challenging course indeed. Stairs, downhills, transitions, quick turns, trees, branches etc. After observing some of the first starters, Kristoffer and I decided we needed some last minute practice, especially with stairs and turns. After a quick warm-up, we were off, up the stairs, with a little bobble, quick turn, down the hill, with more bobbles, arond the trees, over the string, down to the branch, over, down to the other stairs, up, with more bobbles and to the finish line. And despite all teh bobbles, we finished in grand time of 32 seconds. Next round wasn't as quick, many bobbles. There was some tough competition, so we had to step it up! After another quick practice session, we managed to hold the competition off in the end, finishing our 3rd and final "race" in a speedy 28seconds!

Orienteering (Model) 40:47 [3] *** 4.41 km (9:15 / km)
ahr:161 max:175

Felt SO good to get out in these beautiful woods after a 10hr car ride. Loki appreciated it too, up until 3/4 of the way through when he bonked. It was quite hot and we didn't have any water, he pretty much walked the whole way back to the car. Didn't even need to put a leash on him, he wasn't going anywhere.
