| Hiked up Moosilauke via the Benton Trail with Loki. Fast hike up, though my HR only got to 174, so 179 must have been on the way down!! (I was cruising!)
Up (3.4 miles, 1000m climb) took 1hr26, (ave 159, max 174) down the same way took 45mins. (ave 156, max 179). on top for 10mins (ave 111, max 146) Yea, I spent an entire 10 mins freezing on the socked in, visibility less than 50m summit while giving Loki some kibs so he had energy for the run down. (I think he ran about 4 times farther than I did on the way up) There was rime ice on the spruces and cairns at the summit and I was very glad that I brought the thin hat and gloves! Even when we got down to the trailhead again, the temp was only 45! Brr! I'm not quite ready for fall yet. But on the other hand, it was nice and refreshing. Short drive back to the house where I made a delicious "breakfast" (at noon) of scrambled eggs, bacon and homemade hashbrowns all mixed together! | ||
