Wednesday Apr 30

Cycle 30:00 [2]
Warm up warm down to biodynamics.
Cycle (RPM) 55:00 [3]
As usual, RPM kicks ass.
Going to get to more of these classes, they are all good.

Monday Apr 28

MTB (Golf and Green Tag) 1:08:42 [3]17.42 km (3:57 / km)
Tuning the legs over with Steve. got out of bush bashin in the crappy bomb with FnC's.
Note
How about a bit of cross training???

Sunday Apr 27

MTB race (Point to Point Alice MTB) 2:11:13 [4]37.44 mi (3:30 / mi)
ahr:17 max:38
11th overall.
2:12:40
0:46:20
0:52:10
0:34:10

AWESOME race.
Gret race, good nutrition plan. endurolytes need to be more acessible though (5) lost 2. Water was just enough. Only one powerbar shot left, ate snakes after that (3).
Had good legs thru the race. consistant, didn't get tired. Not pushing too hard at the beginning, was feeling better when riding on my own though, too many people make me nervous and make technical mistakes/push too hard.
Happy with result.

Good date too! cool day at work post, birthday throbolysis.

Saturday Apr 26

MTB (Green tag, some of golfco) 1:30:00 [3]20 km (4:30 / km)
ahr:16
Did the green tag - with my computer - halfway! Stacked it and found halfway through the golfcourse that I didn't have me computer with me. It was where poor Scott copped it - about 4kms worth of backtracking. All good though, getting to know the lookout decent better now!
Had a good chat with Nem after too.
Good ride.

Friday Apr 25

MTB (Town, Lookout.) 1:00:00 [2]
Rode around town. called in sick from work today but was getting too stir crazy, had to got out for some fresh air.
Rode up to lookout and got some photos of sunset. went to town for Blues and got dissapointed.

Thursday Apr 24

MTB (Golf Course and Green Tag) 3:00:00 [3]
Hungover from Comedy show.
Good ride, ok legs for it.
Correction- great ride, exploring the new conda tracks. Green tags x2. One peeled off from the lookout and was awesome, technical flowy. good.
The other greeny has had alot of work on it, went out about 4kms. Nice easy flowy riding, can pushit quite easily - going to be a fast track when racing. Ended up in this beautiful gorge. breathtaking, a real nice treat. knobhead said it was probably Emily's gap (hehe).
A definite winner.
SICK AS A DOG at work afterward. really herting in the head, nauseated couldn't eat. Pretty messy all round.

Tuesday Apr 22

MTB (East side) 1:30:00 [3]
weight:66.5lbs
Out back of town with Ads, a bit of faffing pre ride - not my fault, although I am a bit affronted by being accused of faffing by Ads. I may kick my tyres a bit before I go but comon.... thats nothing compared to the girls at home. and I have been having alot of mechanicals.
My shoes have decided to die so I was swearing at my pedals thru the ride, they'd click out for hills and slip off for descents. It was quite amusing to hear Ads chuck a spack attack about his saddle too - at least it wasn't only me. We are on the same page.... he is still feeling this poxy lurgie too.

Monday Apr 21

Note
Sick as a dog. Nearly called in sick. Slept thru and cancelled a ride with Ads. This may all be secondary to dirty smoke from Bo's.
I hate this flu. Coughing from 4 in the morning.

Saturday Apr 19

Cycle race (ACC #3) 1:15:06 [4]26 km (2:53 / km)
Road race, sneaky sctechy roadies .
Did not enjoy it.
Was sat behind by one old scab who would not pull his weight.
Laurie broke away halfway thru, the others expected me to pull him back - stuff them so he took off. Wasn't caught. I broke away 2km before end - close 2nd. old man nearly pipped me at the post.

Friday Apr 18

MTB (Golf course circuit x2) 1:25:00 [3]32 km (2:39 / km)
That Heather cold was threatening to resurface as she said it does, I went out for a midday ride anyway and I held up pretty well.
Saw Ads on the way out - he says he was too sick to ride (I think he'd rather philander with the x) but it's only to his own detriment and no skin off my nose.
Feeling really good on the bike. Not sure if it's to do with knowing the paths better, or I am getting my legs back from the ?RR earlier this year, anyhow I think the training is doing well and things are on the up for the race (hopefull) peak.
Foung Golfy is better in Middle/large cog. The bigger is the better, helps you really charge. Standing on hills.
I haven't got a comprehensive training program happening and can't see Pete about a brew either, may see if he can mail somthing over . I will talk with him anyway.
After at work I was feeling a bit flu-ey but that has passed too.
I love Alice. I love MTB.
Great southern land like-a-version came on the radio as I was returning back to town from out back of Golfy, I could see the West Macdonnalds ranges purple over the horizon, the rough terrain and trees in front, mild autumn air, it was really cool. breathtaking!

Thursday Apr 17

Running (Anzac hill) 40:00 [3]
Tried to catch the sunrise this morning. Got up to Anzac and did a couple of repas up and down but the sun was just taking too long.
Aparently it rises at 650am so it wasn't going to happen anyway.

Wednesday Apr 16

MTB (East side run) 2:45:00 [4]
Did the beginning of golf course, initial hills, washingmachine, kangaroo (the first 3 kms and back), dunny.
Refused to walk any of the hills. am begining to get them now. Not sure if I was feeling good because
a) I havent rode for a couple of days
b) wasn't pushing to keep up with Adam
c) getting to get how to climb these hills
was able to push it and feeling really good by the end of the ride. Had to get back to meet heather for lunch. This cold for some reason has decided to be an EVIL 24 hour thing as I actually feel better now! Which is awesome.

Tuesday Apr 15

Note
have a fucking cold. bad.

Monday Apr 14

Note
losing my voice

Sunday Apr 13

MTB race (XC #2) 1:08:09 [4]
5th Place B class.
3 laps, reverse basin.
23.04, slow poxy hills got off three times. Passed by boy and Justine after the first ascent and couldn't catch them.
22.46, knew what was coming and only walked twice. got caught up with justine getting off at times too.
22.19, getting into the rythm of it, pushing it where I could. Passed Justine with ease this time round - I think she was getting tired.

All out at least I finished this time (adam had a flat this week-not happy and now can empathise- instead of laugh) it was OK, I could have done better off the bat and only started to feel good by the last lap.
Justine is not too bad actually and could prove to be usefull if we need to team up and pace for the Anaconda. esp. the Ross river stage.
I'll try to get out with her a couple of times.
Was coughing up stuff after the race, had some ventolin etc. and kept coughing all arvo.

Saturday Apr 12

Cycle (Around town) 40:00 [2]
had to go the Ulitmate ride. Corey made me sweat it out for those rims/tyres that he was going to lend me. I was at the shop for over an hour but.... fuck it was worth it. Went back to his place and he lent me some XTR rims with Pythons for the race.
They look awesome on Scott.

Friday Apr 11

Cycle (Town) 1:00:00 [2]
Checking out town, the gap, accomodation, took ages so I'll log it.
Hot and Dry.
MTB (Dunny track) 1:35:06 [4]25.63 km (3:43 / km)
Another awesome run of the dunny track, I think I'd be able to find it myself next time. The hills here are brutal and I have to learn how to get up this slippy shale that is on every ascent. I'm getting there. I hate walking up hills but once you stop you cannot get back on.
Adam as usual is a legend... but I am getting closer to his tail everytime and as he enjoys the stop start type of riding I'm cutting into his resting time so in turn making him better too. Or that is what I'm telling myself.

Thursday Apr 10

MTB (Golf circuit) 55:07 [4]17.03 km (3:14 / km)
ahr:175 weight:38.9lbs
Fine run. Stacked it on the straight trying to avoid a sharp rock.... still have the poxy nobbys on.
Can't really confidently ride untill the contys come in.
Good graze and lge bruise.

Wednesday Apr 9

Walk (Alice canyon tour) 2:00:00 [2]
Nice rock climb / mountain climb at Larapinta trail.
Spent day at Big Hole, Glen Helen.
Heather was feeling quite unwell so not too much tramping.

Tuesday Apr 8

MTB (Simpson Gap ciruit) 2:40:00 [4]
Long hard, ? trail in the Enduro.
Adam faired up well. I kept up.
Found standing on the slippy river stones uphill really makes a difference. Tyres held up - but making me nervous. Can't wait for the contys to come into town.
Good ride for working on technique, good stamina builder, beautiful scenery.
Just missed out on amping up the AY-up's.

Monday Apr 7

Running (Alice Circuit) 1:20:00 [3]12 km (6:40 / km)
ahr:169
Circuit of Alice,
only because of FUCKn Tyers. but never the less a good run.
Ran Anzac Hill.
Nice route. Will do again.
HRM is broken.

Sunday Apr 6

MTB race (Alice MTB #1) 20:00 [3]
Poxy Nobby Nics front tyre blew halfway through the first lap.
I was very dirty about all this.
was in B grade, three laps, would have been a good challenge.
Will be getting new setup this week.
Never again will be getting Shumic (or whatever) tyres.

Saturday Apr 5

MTB (Golf Course Circuit) 50:00 [4]17 km (2:56 / km)
Good run of Golfcourse.
No probs with that drop off this time round.
Good cadence. Getting used to the rocks.
Shockie gasket has blown.

Friday Apr 4

MTB (Golf course) 1:00:00 [3]
ahr:169 rhr:46 slept:5.5 weight:68.4lbs
Full ride, good terrain. Nicely varied.
Technical drop off 1 METER, near miss fall - Adam is a shit.
He was too hungover to kick my ass today - I like it.

Thursday Apr 3

MTB (Golf course) 1:20:00 [3]
Golf club trail - half.
Anzac hill - need to do more runs of that one.
Still feel like haven't got any energy, taking 40 mins to get into rythm.
Swimming (Alice Pool) 42:00 [3]2 km (21:00 / km)
Slow pool.
Nice swim.
Running (Pools) 10:00 [3]

Wednesday Apr 2

Cycle (Taxi ride) 30:00 [1]
Poor taxi bike, a bit roughed up after the police station.
Taking the aforementioned tyre and rim to the shop on the other side of town.
No real riding today, too much mucking around with the tyres.

Tuesday Apr 1

MTB (Alice) 1:20:00 [4]
Alice is supreme!!!!
Went for a pedal with mental Adam (singlespeed 29' fixed frame)
Took out the back of town .
Did dunny run, washing machine, helmet, rock garden.
Rock garden is awesome, flowy, technical but comfortable run. Going to be an effort to find it on my own but i'll try. What you'd call real "mountain biking" - climbing a mountain on a bike. Good good good tracks.
Adam kicked my ass.
Also managed to shread my one week old nobby nicks. GREAT.
I need to get my HRMonitor out of hiding.
I need to ride more.
Everyday.
This is verry possible as apparently there is more long good good good tracks than days of the week around here (correctional and community service maintain the tracks) and there is lots of people to ride with.

Walk (Cyclo cross) 30:00 [3]3 km (10:00 / km)
Carried my bike home after the tyres shat themselves.
Especially after the probs getting them out of the bike bag, not impressed.
Small slit, 5mm. Stans not effective.
On examination tyres are already perishing, some knobs are already half hanging off, this is after them being ridden on twice - granted the track was really rough but this is what the tyres are made for.

??? Nobby Nics are shit tyres ???
won't be purchasing again.
