I ran at Blockhouse Point. That means I drove through Potomac, MD. I saw a lot of old guys riding expensive bicycles and they were dressed to the nines. Does that count as my AOWN moment for the day? No one was in the woods (Nadim was still recovering from the foot long KC thorns) and what nice woods they were too. I made up my own courses with the hope of avoiding the thick stuff. It worked. Running in the open forest is quite fun. It would be possible to have a nice set of sprint races there.
No school today because..... it was raining. They thought it was going to be a freezing rain but the temperture stayed a 35 and never made it to 32.
I did 30 minutes of rowing before I got the call about the cancelled school day.
My feet were hurting from standing too much today, so I rode the bike.
Some people want to drive to PA after school on Friday, stay up all night, and watch the ground hog in the morning. Then drive back home.
I felt no ill effects from yesterday's run.
At school it was the first day for using the promethean board (a smartboard). Everything worked the first time I used it. We have known for a week or two that we were getting this in each classroom, but mine was not installed till Saturday. Pat and I went to the school on Saturday to test it and to make the flipcharts ( propriatary type powerpoints) for Monday. Now I am happy I did not have the one smartboard in the whole school, I don't have to relearn anything.
I ran the three courses for the local meet at Lake Fairfax. The courses were fun and I feel drained from running them.
It was almost like doing a threshold workout. I think I'll save the maps and use them again.
No rowing today.
