Orienteering race (forest) 1:03:57 [4] 7.0 km (9:08 / km)

Täby Long Distance Angarn ÖM9 (13/32)

Wow, something weird happened last night. I fell asleep just before midnight and didn't know anything until just before 07:00. I can't remember the last time I actually slept straight through the night.

The difference that made wasn't evident immediately when warming up but I was able to attack the race from the start. I didn't let the disaster that was controls 3-5 dampen my spirits and got myself back together on the long leg to 6 (nearly 2km). Scrappy on 9, significant mistake on 10 then I started to feel really good - from there to the finish I was 14:13 compared to the winner's 12:52 (Göran Thimberg from my club, 48:52).

It was the same shitty forest as yesterday but today I didn't really notice.

Running warm up/down (xc) 4:30 [2]

Orienteering race (forest) 49:16 [3] 4.9 km (10:03 / km)

Täby Middle DIstance Angarn ÖM8 (16/68)

Not a good night's sleep, feared the worst but actually I could run (much better than on Wednesday). However technically I was all over the shop (infinitely worse than on Wednesday). I probably lost as much as 10mins.

The forest wasn't great either, I don't mind less than runnable terrain like the uneven rocky ground but brashings?! I thought that I'd left all that behind years ago. A bad day at the office and over 10mins/km for the first time this year (excluding informals).

Trail run, mostly easy. Over optimistic again about how much distance I was good for but at least not quite as over optimistic as last time.

I'm going to try to log my hours asleep each night in an effort to try and increase them. I have a feeling that I'm heading for another Autumn with cold after cold and would like to try and avoid that if possible.

Running warm up/down (xc) 4:00 [1]

Orienteering race (forest) 43:57 [2] 4.6 km (9:33 / km)

Luffarligan Event Paradiset (2/35)

Almost didn't go but the weather was nice and the terrain amazing, of course. It was a mistake - I should have stayed at home and worked, I couldn't enjoy the course because of tiredness (not sleeping well, many reasons). I had a better run techincally than last week but 6mins slower for 100m longer.
