17/18 Ranking Event 6, Attunda OK middle Rösjön, H21 4.8km (21/29)

Better than yesterday, less paths, more contour and rock detail, more interesting.

Ran ok-good technically but it was a bit lucky. Was struggling for focus, especially towards the end. No oxygen problems today but felt tired after running yesterday regardless of a rare, good night's sleep. Probably to be expected after 2 weeks of illness.

So after 6 ranking events it does seem like I have set myself a good target. It's certainly not going to be easy but certainly not impossible either. A few times I could have got 24 points or better by simply making less mistakes. Next up - middle distance on 30th Sep.

17/18 Ranking Event 5, Attunda OK long Rösjön, H40 7.3km (3/12)

Really fast, residential forest with many paths. Quite detailed in places but still a massive contrast from last week's Tyresta heaven.

I missed 2 by 3.5 minutes, major bummer. I could have been concentrating more but also I think I relied on the paths too much. Nothing made sense from my path junction attack point and I made it worse by not reinforcing my guesswork with the compass. Searching around way West of where I should have been followed by a fairly lenghy reloaction.

Nearing number 8 there was a climb and some tougher terrain and I didn't get my breathing right or the last remnants of my cold or something. Anyway I spent 8-10 fighting off a stitch.

Otherwise a good run, enjoyable at times. Other than 2 a good focus which led to some clever decisions at speed. A bit like spring orienteering what with so many little paths and junctions.
