Långhundra IF long Arlanda, ÖM9 7.4km (7/28)

Last-minute decision to push the boat out and go orienteering again, the 4th day in a row. Jogging to the start thought that it might not go too well but once actually racing there was no significant knee or left-side limitation.

I'm pretty pleased with how things are going. To be able to not just run but push hard in the terrain day after day a bit of a miracle all things considered.

Orienteering race (forest) 41:05 [4]

Söders middle distance club champs. I came 5th, Alex won in 33mins.

Knee/left-side ok like yesterday but whilst the knee seems also ok after running the left-side does not and from groin to glute feels painful and strange.

Orienteering race (forest) 1:09:35 [4]
shoes: inov-8 oroc 280 red

Summer series event on Rånö. I was really looking forward to this seeing as the last time I was on the island 3 years ago I was ill all weekend and couldn't get out into the uinque terrain. It was quite special as expected. Knee better today, in fact everything was better today from a physical perspective. A nice dip in the Baltic afterwards too.

A Swedish national team runner came by me towards the end of the course, he didn't look like he was going that fast but did 41:30. Pretty amazing performance considering he was obviously considered not quite good enough to go to WOC - just shows the strength in depth of the Swedish team just now. Or just pretty much always really, especially when comparing with GB.

Orienteering (forest) 45:25 [3] 5.9 km (7:42 / km)
ahr:147 max:161 shoes: inov-8 oroc 280 red

Söders training from the club hut. Took it steady, no aggressiveness. Knee not so good, in fact left-side in general not so good.

Running hills (xc/terrain) 1:23:45 [3] 7.9 km (10:36 / km) +780m 7:06 / km
ahr:153 max:170 shoes: inov-8 oroc 280 red

Hills route with extension...
1. 38:20 (18:55, 19:25)
2. 39:05 (19:20, 19:45)

Nice, finally 2 laps - first time since knee setback. Slow times for how good I felt at the start but didn't hydrate very well for it and it was (of course) suddenly quite warm again today.

Tried to bound up the easy hills pretending the good leg was injured, did manage to tire out the bad leg in the process. Otherwise still fairly noticeable that the good leg is working harder.
