Rowing (indoor) 21:20 [2] 5.0 km (4:16 / km)
ahr:128 max:147

Level 0.

Running hills (xc/terrain) 28:00 [3] 3.1 km (9:02 / km)
ahr:146 max:158 shoes: walsh pb trainer

Forced myself out for half a lap of my hills route after the row, good to do a hill session at least once a week plus this also makes 2 runs, 2 rides and 2 rows. Nice and balanced.

Around the national park route.

This actually went pretty well considering, died a bit over the last 5km but not surprising after unexpectedly fast 25-30 and 30-35 splits.

Note

Went to have an ultrasound done on my ankle today.

Good news is that it doesn't look like I need it opened up and have bits scraped away or taken out.

Bad news is that there are 3 compartments full of fluid and one of them is the worst the specialist had ever seen. Massive inflammation. Probably that 15km run yesterday that did that.

I think overall however the news is quite positive as there are lots of methods to bring down inflammation. No wonder taking a naproxen tablet before running is magical.

Next step is an appointment with the physio next Wednesday and one with orthopedic doctor on the Friday after that. I do wonder if I am doing the right thing with the tablets, like maybe the strategy to take a tablet before running was a bad one and the strategy to not to take any tablets at all is also a bad one. Maybe I should be taking an anti-inflammatory tablet AFTER exercise.

Running long (road/xc) 1:30:40 [3] 15.1 km (6:00 / km)
ahr:149 max:161 weight:93.4kg shoes: walsh pb trainer

Long trail route.

Amazing that I didn't stop and walk home. Probably should have. Or probably shouldn't be running full stop. I don't know. I managed 15km without stopping, that's a bit crazy.
