A more significant walk today at lunchtime, not a brilliant feeling in the ankle but similarly to recent times it's like I can feel the extra strength coming through. Progress is still being made, slowly but surely.

Went out on the bike to meet up with Nick, we were turfing but the primary plan was to get onto some long, straight, hilly sections and do some efforts. Regretted this plan soon after starting as legs were tired but by the time I met up with Nick I was feeling more energetic, you know how it can often be right? Shame I got my first ever puncture (with this bike) about 5mins later :(

Stupid to not have spare tube/pump with me I guess. It was going to happen at some point. Really stupid to not at least have a small rucksack with a change of footwear, I know by now how hard my ankle has to work when forced to walk with these stiff SPD shoes. Fortunately I got rescued by my better half.

A lunchtime walk, not long not short. Could feel the effects of yesterday's strength and conditioning session pretty much everywhere, but mostly in the abdominal and gluteus muscles. Need to make sure I recover these properly so did some massage and stretching.

My left quad is sooo tight. Yesterday doing the one-legged bridge the difference between each side in terms of how high I could move up to was v noticeable. I would bet this is why my left leg soon starts flopping around uncoordinated like when I start to walk fast or jog. I think it was the first casualty of my LH-side problem going back a few years - maybe it took the strain of dealing with the glute/hamstring issues before it eventually knotted up and left the compensation job to just the knee and groin instead.

Usual story, ankle felt good Saturday, bad yesterday and good again today - took advantage of this and did lots of exercises plus the start (and probable finish) of a core program.

Due to some presumed alcohol poisoning my training took a longer break than necessary lol. Anyway felt ok enough to get out there to grab some neutral turf zones, they had all been reset because of the start of the new round. Good to get out there immediately and get a good start in terms of points (50 extra for a neutral) against any potential promotion rival.

Having said that I hope there won't be anyone in my group all that interested this time, even if I have gone up to league 10 - get the feeling that it was rare to have 2 high-scorers in the same group last round in group 11.

Legs felt really fresh, gave it the beans on the uphill segment near to my house on the way home - PB now 1:32, was 1:54!
