Note
Rest Day

Wednesday Jul 30

Orienteering race 1:09:35 [4]5.5 mi (12:39 / mi)
What a hot, hot day. We went to the BAOC event at Perham Down. Only line course available was 5.5kms, longer than I wanted, but didn't fancy map memory! Technically easy, but took a couple of naff routes to get out of the sun, losing 4 minutes to David on one leg. Eventually got running betwenn 4 and 5, but very slow. Don;t know whether being on this strange diet has effected me too much, as they suggest you don't do any exercise apart from 30 minutes gentle walking a day!! Only 4 minutes behibnd David, and that was what I lost from 3 to 4!! Hope it;s cooler at the Welsh next week.

Tuesday Jul 29

Body Pump class 1:00:00 [3]
Such a shame that so few people do this class. I was the only one booked on but in the end 5 turned up. I'm finding the lunges a real problem with my left ankle. not sure what i've done. Will rest up for a couple of days as i want to geo okay for Wales next week.

Monday Jul 28

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Took A while to get going due to huge traffic jams after closing the M27/3. saasy was kind to us tonight and gave us lots of opportunity to hydrate, unlike usual. Worked us hard especially track 8. Think I got the switch knee compltetely right for the first time.
Body Pump class 1:00:00 [3]
Was worried about my left ankle, which did become rather sore, especially when I put on heavy weights for squats and the back track. Not sure what I've done but will rest tomorrow and do the BAOC event on Wednesday.

Sunday Jul 27

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Hard Sunday morning workout with Katie as usual. Nearly managed to get the arm movements for the switch knee part!! I'll get therte eventually. Was really hot in the studio, that's even with the air-con working again. must be murder in the gym where it's out of action, yet again!

Saturday Jul 26

Body Pump class 1:00:00 [4]
WAs feeling worn out today so decided to drop weights. however decided i'd look a wimp so keep them at the same level!! Few people must be on holiday as there were some spaces for a change.
Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
Felt really exhausted after Pump and nearly wimped out. Decided to go for it, using the low level options as necessary. Was able to do about 60% at full level, but jumping jacks were beyond me as were plyometric lunges, but then that is as normal!! Hopefully I'll have more energy tomorrow for Combat?

Friday Jul 25

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
First time I've been to this morning class. Very busy. Good to have a morning workout, and Katie certainly works you hard. At least she does the proper cooldown. I really like the music for that - it's a maori sounding track! The woman who moaned about Katie was there. why does she come? Apparently she apologised after the class, but then she should never have said what she did in the first place!
Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
Several newcomers there tonight. Unusally, no Lisa. Hard workout. Perhaps it was because I'd done combat this morning and cycled down and back to the gym twice!! That's my excuse anyway.

Thursday Jul 24

Body Pump class 1:05:00 [3]
morning class taken by the mad guy Eddie! Certainly knew we'd done a workout today. He does give lots of nutritional advice as well. Seems the diet i'm following is just the ticket. Here's hoping it starts to work!!

Wednesday Jul 23

Orienteering race (Sprint O Score event) 47:04 [5]
Went to the Army League score event at Upavon Army Camp. Map scale 1:5000, done to normal standards.Target was shortest time to collect all the controls. Lots of route choice. i made a hash of the last 5 contorls doing them in the wrong order. It was important to work out when to do the 3 controls in the middle of the area.Hit most of them spot on, apart from one at the top of the area where I couldn't find a fairly obvious path to it so ended up going out of my way through some houses to find it. Please with both my running and technique. This is definitely my faviourite discipline of orineteering even though I'm slow. The challenge of having to make very quick choices and to keep running all the time is great!

Tuesday Jul 22

Body Pump class 1:00:00 [3]
Nice to get to the early morning class at 7.15am. Problem with numbers though. Only 5 there today, and it has to have 6 to continue. 4 more weeks for the numbers to pick up. Shame I can only go in the school holidays.
Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Good workout tonight. Sassy was wearing some real kinky boots. not sure what that was about!! I got the step kick change tonight, providing I could copy Steve or Helen!

Monday Jul 21

Event: Oringen 2008

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Good session tonight, despite Sassy being injured yet again. Was able to get a good space behind the wall pillar with some marks to aim at!!
Body Pump class 1:00:00 [3]
Over subscribed session tonight, with 27 people there. Rather tight on space. Mansaged all the press ups so felt pleased.

Sunday Jul 20

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Katie took it very slightly easy today as the girls plus Matt and Parick had been on a boozy night out last night. Despite a poor number arriving early 30 finally turned up. Was troubled by my cough. hopefully it will soon improve. how can I get a cold after i've broken up for the hoildays??

Friday Jul 18

Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
quiet tonight as no Cath. Sam keeps saying she won't show us the turn in the lunge track but yet again she did it with us!! Hard work in the abs track at the end, but can nearly get my legs down to the floor. wish i was improving at triceps press ups though. Still crap.

Thursday Jul 17

Body Attack 1:00:00 [4]
nice to be able to get to a morning class. loads of people i knew, plus some strangers. Almost there with the switch step change routine.

Wednesday Jul 16

Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
There was a local O event tonight, but worn out as it was the last day of term for the kids. Yippee, not more school until 10th September!!
Did Attack instead. Getting to grips with the new lunge track. too many dynamic lunges though. do them at my low level instead. now be able to do some classes during the day after tomorrow.

Tuesday Jul 15

Body Combat warm up/down 1:00:00 [4]
Really shattered after end of term activities at School. Took all the low options and managed to struggle through. Roll on tomorrow night!

Monday Jul 14

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Went right through the new release today, apart from the cool down. Sassy did the step change slowly, but still have problems when doing it on the left side!1
Body Pump class 1:00:00 [3]
wht do the biceps hurt so much. Almost tempted to drop down to just yellow weights but resisted and found it really hard!!

Sunday Jul 13

Body Combat hills 1:00:00 [4]
Bust Sunday session. Ended up at the front, but it meant I could try and follow the step change step. Still couldn't manage it. must get Sassy to go over it slowly.

Saturday Jul 12

Body Pump class warm up/down 1:00:00 [3]
Another busy session. Katie persuaded us to put extra weight on for the Squat track. Felt rather heavy towards the end, but boy have I suffered the rest of the day!! Knees feel really knackered!!
Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
I must admit to feeling tired even before the start of the class having done Pump first. However it is an enjoyable release. Now really liking track 8. The lunges are demon, so take the lower option for most of the track. Can do the pulse part at high level. At least that's something.

Thursday Jul 10

Orienteering race (Score event) 30:00 [4]
SOC BBQ. choicwe between score or Norweignevent. Chose the former. Map scale of 1:2500 was tricky at first. couldn't find the first control i was loking for. Decided to do it at the end as it was near the Start. Good running in the park land, but much slower on the shingle beach. got to the furthest control out and foud that i'd missed number 1, whcih was as far as possible in the opposite direction!!. Jogged across to pick that one up and the one i'd missed. Nice to stretch legs and try to get brain to remember what orienteering was!!

Wednesday Jul 9

Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
First session using the new release. Absolutely packed with loads of new people. Relly like the new track 9 for a change.

Tuesday Jul 8

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Nice to work out, having got absolutely soaked getting there!! Kept away from Steve who gets a bit OTT at times!!

Monday Jul 7

Body Combat 1:00:00 [4]
Sassy takes thos class. She's more in your face than Katie. A good session. As she goes slower with the new moves I've almost got the knee swicth change movement.
Body Pump class 1:00:00 [4]
Several people hadn't been to the launch so Katie had to take her time introducing new moves. As it was an express calss we missed out lunges and biceps. however that means we'll do the two together next week. Aggrh!!

Sunday Jul 6

Body Combat tempo 1:00:00 [4]
Typical sunday morning class with over 40 people there. Great to do the new release. Still can't get the knee-switch chnage move yet. Katie said she'll have a go at teaching me sometime when she's nott too busy. Until then i'll just have to make something up!
Orienteering race 30:00 [4]
Club BBQ. choice of 3kms norweigian or a score event. did the latter. Problems getting into the scale, 1: 2 500. Missed the first control so decided to do it on thhe way back. Fast running across the park land, but then slwed down on beach shingle. Got to control 7 to discover i'd missed out number 1!! This was at the opposite end of the map!! jogged back and picked up the one i'd missed at the beginning. nice workout, tried to get my brain to remeber how to O

Saturday Jul 5

Body Pump class 1:00:00 [3]
Launch of new release toady. Olads of people there, so extra sets were brought in and we onlt got 1 of each of the 3 differnt weights. A couple of good tracks and 1 or 2 stinkers.
Body Attack 1:00:00 [5]
New relaese launch today. Loads more people than usual. Really good track 9 for a change - no sideways knee raised hops for a change. Some good music too.
