9 AM

Orienteering 25:09 [3] 2.2 km (11:26 / km) +17m 11:00 / km
shoes: VJ Sticky

VE with Aoife, She started well but got confused when she needed to turn from track onto fence line. Then she was quite cranky and slow. Cheered up a bit later but still slow, explaining how she is really a specialist at university maps!
10 AM

Orienteering 49:34 [3] 5.5 km (9:01 / km)
shoes: VJ Sticky

Shocker. Very tired and sore and not concentrating at all. This is the 4rd time in a row that I have stuffed up the last day of something. Need to get stronger and stop getting so confident after a decent run. Fairly lucky that GPS had died.

Orienteering 1:04:57 [3] 8.45 km (7:41 / km) +165m 7:00 / km
shoes: VJ Sticky

Long distance at Falnash. Fairly happy with today, a bit wayward at times but managed to save myself. Annoyed to be getting very tired towards end. Hip not so bad today but not great.
3 PM

Orienteering 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Sticky

Control collecting at southern end of map. Hard coming back with sun setting in my eyes. Managed a bad ankle sprain - first since not wearing braces. Nice to be out in the forest though - it was a stunning day!

Orienteering 18:35 [3] 2.25 km (8:16 / km) +21m 7:54 / km
shoes: VJ Sticky

Bush sprint at Ben Bullen. Should have done better- time lost on 4 (poor exit from 3), 5 (trouble reading contours), 9 (shocking direction leaving 8) and 10 (lost my nerve). Could have done a lot better without all that! Hip annoying in the bush which is just annoying.

Orienteering 20:25 [3] 1.93 km (10:34 / km)
shoes: VJ Sticky

Ve with Aoife, the long walk to the start sapped the little enthusiasm Aoife had. It was more of a stroll than a race and she was not inspired today. Course quite straightforward so I only needed to say something when she got distracted by another (quite visible) control. A lot of discussion about how she could not run as she was sad, or happy. She can only run when she is mad. Not sad-mad just mad-mad, sometimes happy-mad but not happy-happy-mad. I have a lot to learn.
