Better today, at least my mind was on the job half the time. Slow to 1, followed wrong gully but corrected ok, probably lost a minute but it seems a lot of people had trouble with their 1. Got pulled downhill on wrong direction to 2. Lost another minute here. Did well on the next series, really annoyed to nail 4 only to find flag on approach side- careful for nothing! Really messed up6. Went high but jumped a ridge ahead so got off track and never got back into map. Spent a good 2-3 minutes bumbling on this one. 7 followed people too low, another minute. 8-9ok but again9 was on approach side so picking up attackpoint not necessary. Did not read description for 10 and just bolted to knoll. Went over it, then around it, before check description - back up between boulders. Really annoyed at myself and went tearing off to 11. Lost 6 minutes here!!! Had to use someone else's control to relocate. All over and just as well as I completely ran out of steam for some reason. Plodded to finish. 10 minutes down.

Bought new compass and glasses beforehand - think both helped but do need to work on better eyesight solution.

The run and result I deserved. Always knew I should not come here, came and proved it anyway. Need to get life in order.

All controls were slow, even the ones I was not too rotten at. 1 wobbly but fine, 2 ok except for initially heading wrong direction, 3 too far right and low, 4 ok but not best route, same for 5 then really started to lose it. Wrong direction to 6, 7 poor planning, 8 started ok but could not interpret map and really lost it. 9 wrong side of hill, 10 ok but confused by map, 11 nailed it - only good leg of the day, 12 ok, 13 ok, 14 completely missed. Did well to find the finish after that effort. Really struggled with map from5 through to 10. Need to be able to handle these things better.
