Swim session with coach Aoife. We took turns coaching each other. She gave me tips on how to speed up breastroke, I gave turns advice (for which I am totally unqualified) then out her through some sets of 50s. We compared times for a 50 free and a 50 breast. I was in the pace (just) and only did 1 rep of each, whereas she was doing 4 of each... i’d better get training!

Sydney Uni Long Sprint. Once again just happy to be running after yesterday and a sore start to the day. A couple of mistakes, the first around the 13-14-15 sequence where I was getting ahead of myself a bit. Then 21-22-23 withabit if map reading trouble. Glad I’d worn my reading glasses, they were ok to run in and helped with the detail a few times. Good fun to run here, I think I’ve controlled last 2 times.

Nice steamy Sydney morning reminding me of what I’m not missing in Canberra. Sweating like crazy for a quite a while after finishing!

The day has a hairy start with a bus reversing into me at the Paramatta Rd/City Rd lights! So nice to be back in the sticks tonight!

Tried a new fireworks viewing spot. Bruce Ridge - clear view, no crowds, fun riding there and back. Mad panic to find 3 sets of working lights for our bikes beforehand. All good in the end.

Worst part of the trip was Belconnen way crossing at lights. Should have just gone via bridge.

Home again, including via the last bit of Whoopee - even better fun than usual, in the dark!

A bit too long for me. Started ok. Hit hip was unhappy so ended up walking the end of the course after making a mistake.

Geocaching ride with Aoife. Got 3 of 4. One that was impossible to find last year too k about 3 seconds.

Finished at the ice cream shop.
