A bit of free time for some fun, in the relative warmth. A bit windy but no problem on the bike. Good fun today!

Mulligans 'not very' Flat. Although having said that, the contours were worse on paper than on the ground. Ran OK. Lost confidence going to 1 (lack of contours on the ground!) but eventually got it. OK then through until leaving 6 where I saw the fence and not the direction. Ran according to that and ended up heading totally the wrong way. Had to backtrack as the only way across was via a gate. Then missed 7. I think I was a the right spot but the control was back and up the hill. 8 was wayward - probably because I was a bit off from the 7 control location. 9 was just tough in vague, flattish nothing terrain where you could not see and running freely was difficult after the lovely clear running earlier. All good.

At Awoonga, a nice map but the hills are harder than they look and stony ground/fallen timber made moving more difficult than it should have been. Need more agility, stability and strength! Got off to a shaky start to 1 with poor map orientation out of the triangle, then never got my direction right, saved myself by spotting an obvious termite mound coming into the big gully system. Was a bit left for 3, not sure how other than too lazy to climb! 4 I went around rather than over the hill and while I was kicking myself at the time (seemed like a long way) I did execute fine. 5 I again went around and lost some time at the end, but did this leg straight when collecting controls and still lost more time. 6 was wayward to the right but lucky to catch myself at the track and spot the junction to make control entry easy. 7 was tired. 8 was good (gentle downhill). 9 was good for the leg - took an aggressive over the top approach but lost out in the circle hunting for the control much higher than it was. 10 was just tired and same for 11, 12. 13 missed the control behind a rock. Lovely sunny day out, warm when running but the wind was brutal afterwards.

Collecting controls. Tried to get some good training out of this.

Slightly longer run from the Civic pool, swimming now up to 90 min sessions:).
With Nat, we went around the lake plus a diversion up to Parliament House and around a really nice bushy, single track there. Cut a bit short on the way back as I was again struggling to keep up and feeling weary.

Speedy run around Franklin and Mitchell with Nat while girls at gym. Chilly tonight! I was struggling to keep up.
