ACT MTBO sprint. Made a mess of 2 and 5. A long time out there. Going well by the end, felt like I was riding at limit of my skill level on the late single tracks. Great feeling!
Mind definitely not switched on as totally forgot to bring out SI sticks or compasses. Rode old-school with an original red hire stick. It did not slow me down :).

Putting out stands and flags and some stomping and track taping.

Tried out using a contact lens today. That was a fail. I will try to ride with glasses in my pocket tomorrow. Happy I have only entered the sprint as I would be very frustrated otherwise.

Very scrappy today. I’d been looking forward to this expecting less grass than previous weeks. That was relatively true but it was still quite grassy especially on the flatter slopes. The steep slopes were littered with fallen timber so not much better but it seems I don’t lose so much time in those bits. I lost a bit of time on 1 (lazy), then a bit unsure at 4, major problem at 7 where I was way too low, and more at 10 when I ended up to o high. Did ok through to 14, maybe cause I had Andy to follow. But lucky I did not follow too closely or else I might have lost time on 12 too. Then just lost power from 4 to the finish. A bit annoying as it was fast and downhill from there. Fun to be out.
