Run 32:29 [3] 5.16 km (6:18 / km)
ahr:145 max:163 shoes: Kayano 26 Blue 9.5

Tumut Wetlands with Sean (!). He should have been going faster than me but was polite. Really nice area out the back of the caravan park.

Saturday Feb 20 #

Swim 15:00 [3]

In Tumut River. Have logged this as it was very cold, and the current was very strong. Good fun to get across into a current that was spinning around and brought you back to the starting place. Took a lot of effort to cross into it and then get back out. Arms really tired on Sunday. 2 swims Saturday and one brief dip Sunday. Very refreshing.

Run 35:34 [3] 6.05 km (5:53 / km) +34m 5:43 / km
ahr:150 max:178 shoes: Kayano 26 Blue 9.5

AIS is supposed to be accepting semi-grotty kids back soon (the real grots have been allowed in for swimming lessons for months) so I thought I’dake the most of one of my hopefully last opportunities for around the lake. Feeling tired and unfit but no injury concerns :).

Friday Feb 19 #

Run 37:46 [3] 5.72 km (6:36 / km) +71m 6:13 / km
ahr:147 max:169 shoes: Kayano 26 Blue 9.5

Nat had a day off so we made it out! Nothing too crazy with injury recovery in mind. Need to build from here.

Wednesday Feb 17 #

Various exercise 30:00 [3]
shoes: Kayano 26 Blue 9.5

Rode Aoife’s bike to school and jogged back to coffee to see if things have recovered. Seem to be getting there, if the afternoon stays clear I will try orienteering tonight.

Arachnacopia = coping with big spiders!
My coping mechanism was avoid the forest bits. Not the best nor worst of runs. Got lucky on a few controls. The placement seemed a bit random but I managed to stop in most circles and spot something a bit nearby. Feeling very unfit and in the places I was able to contemplate running from a fitness perspective, I really struggled with vision. Tried the contact lens, which has been going OK in sprints, but in the terrain, I think it will be too fuzzy and a bit tunnel vision and I am just not confident putting my feet down.
1 = good, 2 = a bit unsure but spotted control just below me, 3 = stopped on what I thought would be control and spotted it just above, 4 = just kept going and got it, 5 = good, 6 = really lost track on the slope and got confused with the clear area lucky to see someone else get the control, 7 = thought I went to the right of the control but when I thought to stop there was nothing to my left, control was some distance to right..., 8 = good but struggle uphill, 9 = OK but anoint struggle up and down in rock, 10 = I was feeling woeful aimed high to keep in clearer ground, saw big gully and surprisingly the control quite high up and close to gully, alas it was not mine!, finish= another struggle up and tentative down.
