Hermann Wehner Tribute - great map and good course, followed by a cupcake. I was a bit wobbly and slow, having arrived home at 10am.

It was Natasha’s first trip to Europe. We had eaten some nice meals in Paris, but she hadn’t had the chance to try Italian pasta or pizza! So w skipped the morning seminar and caught the ferry across to town. Found the first cafe willing to be open and serve lunch at 10 am for a last very delicious meal. Good choice!

Supposedly a team building exercise. I am not convinced. The food has however provided many opportunities for bonding over the fact we are in Italy and fish seems to have replaced pasta as the national dish.

I thought the instructor was joking when he said we were going to row to Venice - but it was no joke. It turned out ok because we had quite a few rests in the way. Our team seemed reasonably strong, but uncoordinated. The Italian charged with the job of translating instructions and keeping time did neither. Lucky the salvadoran could speak Italian for us. The Spanish were a rabble but good at chanting. The French did not like getting wet. The other Australians were at the back so I did not I red t with them. We were disappointed to find out the race was neither the trip to or from Venice. There were a series of short sprints back at our island. These were killers. We made it through 3 rounds before starting too fast and just not getting it right. Very happy to lose that and head home for an extended hot shower.

After a late night (abstaining on most of the cocktails) I dragged myself out for this run - back on Mainland Venice with quite a few colleagues. Took the short option. A very scenic tour including the Biennale gardens.
