Running 3:05:00 [3]
Cruisy run with Damon from home down to the Spit to Manly walk, then back thru' Manly Dam. One of those perfect autumn days that make getting out near the water very pleasant. Got through run feeling pretty good, but disappointed Damon vetoed an ice cream stop in Manly.

Then leftover pizza and coffee (fluked a nice fern in Fleur's latte) at home, and a dip in the pool before heading down to Fisherman's for a paddle.
Headed south to Manly in to the wind - like walking up a ski hill, then nice downwind run back to Long Reef. Had a blast. Started to get what Yanda was talking about, and most pleased to see it meant I felt much more stable in the waves.
Bit of an 'oh shit' moment at the end. Cut the corner reasonably close past the reef, as the rollers were quite big wrapping around the corner but not close to breaking. Except for the set that snuck up at just the wrong time. Casual glance over the shoulder was suprised to see a 3-4m (Damon's estimate not mine) wall of water just starting to break right behind. Glad Ive been doing some 30sec sprints in training - just managed to clear the white water to the side and avoid losing the ski on the reef. Phew. Im sure a real ski paddler would have turned to catch it, then slice off to the side but Im too much of a pussy.
Love paddling out there.
