Thought I'd missed the Moo stairs bus due to peky work commitments, but headed over late and arrived as Bart was calling finish of his 37th rep*.

Did 10/5/3 to continue the gradual ramp up, and finished with a cleansing Guiness at the Lord Fitzroy(?)

* may have been 2nd.

Cruisy coastal loop from Dee Why down to Manly, then looped back thru' Fairlight to North Harbour and back to Dee Why a couple of k back from the coast.

Took a while to get going with a dose of the cbf's to overcome. In to the swing of things by Manly and quite enjoyed the run back.

I came across a short ridiculously steep section of road near Nolan Reserve on the way back. It felt steeper than 'sydneys steepest street' that we ran up in the recent rogaine.

6:45am Spit to Manly & return starting from Balmoral with Bull. The early start was rewarded by a gob smacking sunrise and a comfortable run over to Manly. A little warmer and a little faster for the return journey finishing up with a dip at Balmoral.

A bit confronting running in a new pair of shoes to realise how dead the old ones were. It appears as though the midsoles in the old ones had flattened and spread in width by half a cm thru the ball of the foot.

I'm calling it - best lunch run ever.

Started at Pyrmont bridge with Bart and 8km tempo around the waterfront out to Wayward brewery in Glebe. Consistent 3:35m/k's for the first 3k whence I started to fade somewhere before km 4 and Bart drifted ahead. Thru' 5k in 18:30 and hung on until we reached Wayward right on their opening time of 2pm, ordered a paddle and hit the arcade machine.

Crushed by Bart on free Pac man, galaga, donkey kong, Frogger, Space invaders and Galaxian... finishing off with the paddle with the Youngs double chocolate stout, and then an entertaining 3k tempo back to the city...before switching back in to serious corporate warrior mode.

Good times.

Long slow day on the 13 with Annika, and a very light nor easter. Despite the drifty conditions the bommy was breaking quite spectacularly....glad we noticed in time.

Beer stairs with Bart. Fairly casual until Bart added in the rep that I usually leave out. When I complained it was boring, he upp'ed it by starting inside Star City Casino next to the Ferrarri display. Well played.

Long tempo intervals around the wharves 2k/2k/1k/750 @ approx. 3:45's, maybe a little quicker at the end. Felt OK.

A much better effort on Moo stairs this week. Got thru 10 without dying in 9min, and then joined Jono for the first 5 of his 30 when he turned up unexpectedly (but unsurprisingly).

Easy exploration run from Dee Why. Headed down the coast track to Curly, then headed west for the loop back because Id never really been up in that area....and learned that I haven't missed much.

Sourced a double XT and took Karen out for a ski paddling debut from the Spit. Established fairly quikly that balance was all good, and headed out to Grotto in search of bump.

Amusing highlight was paddling past the Nudie nude ocean swim from Cobblers Beach.

Back on the water in my own ski for Tom's sailing. The Spark felt tiny after a morning in a doublt XT. Love that little boat.

13's with Tom today, and as the wind was lighter (8-10kt) suggested he crew for the first time....which he loved, and my tired legs got a rest. Glorious day on the harbour.

The upside of running at lunchtime is a window of undistracted thinking time, and an opportunity to sort the noise and pfaff from what really matters at the corporate coal face. In a first, after a 3k of pondering I stopped mid run to make a call which began with the mental image of "bombs away".

After that, inspired by Ondrej's farewell beer run I went for a wharfy variation, and cut back thru' Wenty park and Darling Harbour. Worked quite well.

First attempt at Moo stairs in 12 months. Going ok for the first 8, and suddenly popped on the 9th. As I was curled in the foetal position (OK, maybe just sitting on the stairs) Jono & Bull came past and I jumped on the train to run back to work.

Need to do more.

Didn't make it out for a lunchy until 4pm which is a sign of being busier than I'd like on a Monday. Tapped out a comfortable 5k tempo a tad under 20min. Felt better than expected.

Ran from Pymble following Annika's softball over to Davidson via the pipeline for sprint orienteering around the local high school.

First time Ive made it to a Saturday morning O, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Running speed was good....nav not so much. Lost a minute at #10 misreading a gap that I thought you could get thru', and then lost concentration at the end of the course, missing the 2nd & 3rd last controls pretty badly.

Jog home was hard work and felt a bit hunger flatty.
