Kayak 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Sea Vanquish

Strange one. Got home from work at 1:30am (took a cab - disappointed with myself for not riding), then up early for a quick paddle before grannie dropped the kids back (Katrin had put them to bed at grannie's on the way to Dirtworks).

Feeling rather uninspired, but even more so when I realised Id left my paddle gear box at home. No time to return, so t-shirt and speedos it was. First half hour was a load of crap form and effort-wise, not to mention freezing my nanies off (brisk autumn sw still blowing). Decided to do some efforts to get going a bit and suprisingly started to feel pretty good. Did 15 * 30sec on-off, seem to do 45 strokes in 30 sec.

Cycling 1:30:00 [3]

Rode from Annika's t-ball in St Ives to work in the city. Weird riding the commuter bike with pack along Mona Vale Rd which is the usual roadie route.

Kayak 1:05:00 [3]

6am get up a bit of a struggle after going to bed at 1. Went thru' 2 snooze cycles on the alarm.

Paddle from Fisherman's on the Mark 2 with Rob. Brisk offshore breeze but nice and sunny. Headed a fair way out to use the wind for the out-paddle, then snuck back in close to the beach on the way back to hide from the wind. Worked a treat. Great to get out on the ocean again. Hard to beat the morning view back on to Sydney.

Pretty tired though, quite content to paddle nice and relaxed.

Probably a good time to get the Mark2 out again in light of impending Geoquest. Will need to work out boat combos.

Running 1:02:00 [3]

Early morning out and back river loop. Nice and misty along the water.

Cycling 55:00 [3]

Offer too good to refuse to put in some long work days so a late one. Got home just before 11. Sleepy and legs a tad tired.

Cycling (Commute) 55:00 [3]

Annika's birthday meant a late start. Banana bread straight out of the oven (then into the sandwich press for some outer-crispness) for breakfast. Sublime.

Very enjoyable ride. Must have been the banana bread afterglow.

Worked out that dropping the heels gives extra traffic light stand stability.

Gym 35:00 [3]

Gym sess on the way home. Felt rather good.

Running 10:00 [5]

10 minutes on the tready at end of gym session. 5min at 4m/k then 2min at 3m/k. Felt good to stretch out a bit.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Arvo cruisy Opera house loop with an LMC run thru in the middle to see where the legs are at - 2:41 comfortable. Bit of treadmill at the gym to finish with. A few minutes at 17.5km/h to get some flow/length in the stride. Felt better for it.

Bit of vmo doms after yesterday's first run in 2 weeks.

Cycling (Commute) 1:05:00 [3]

Late ride home. F'in freezing on the downhills. Did some one-legged drills through Willoughby - not sure what the dog walkers made of them.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

One of those mornings. Pant-pooing incident just as we were leaving created some time pressure.

Took the High St, Nth Sydney shortcut to pull back time but got a flat in Nth Sydney. Forgot to pack the shaver in the poo melee, so looking very suave with a 4 day camping stubble to go with the work clothes.

And finally got harassed by some tool cyclist in North Sydney who took offence to being overtaken by a hairy legged mtb'er out of some lights in crows nest. He established the enormous girth of his pen1s by skillfully sprinting and cutting in (dangersously close) a couple of times at ensuing lights. Needless to say, I was impressed.

Running 50:00 [3]

Lunch Opera House loop with a bit of core work at the end. Short & choppy for the first half, loosened up nicely by the end. Ankle stabiliser that I tweaked in Keen OK but wouldnt want to do a terrain run just yet (although probably could if i had to).
