Very cruisy Bantry Bay loop + Magazines loop with Damon. Couple of stretch stops due to left hammy a tad tight after first paddle in a month yesterday.

Hot. Soaking in the pool afterwards luverly.

Bantry bay loop after t-ball parenting. Low 30's and still, but wont complain about heat in respect of Melburnians. Bit of rub from new shoes, so popped out the inserts near the end.

Managed to scrape in a single paddle for January. Wrist felt OK. Paddling with brace works well, and gives confidence of not doing any awkward moves. Good for technique being forced to keep a straight wrist.

Funny to feel the various torso muscles gradually remember to join in to the rotation equation gradually over the first 20 minutes.

Felt much better in boat than would have expected. Great to be back on the water.

Quality tag-teamining. Finished at Baywview, and gave the ski to Katrin who had been shopping for NYE supplies. She went for a paddle, while I swapped to the Bic and paddled back to the bay with a load of food, wine and beer.

Early morning Killarney loop. Half awake, stiff legged bucket of shyte.

Lunch Opera House loop with a 5 minute walk in the middle to shake the legs loose. Much more enjoyable trot than this morning. Sad reminder that jumping out of bed and running unwarmed up doesnt work as well as it used to.

First day back at school. Very excited littlies. I wonder what age it isn't cool to look forward to school anymore. Year 3 is the first year I can really clearly remember from when I was a kid. Guess that means as parents we're now 'on the record' from Annika's perspective.

Long run with Cradle Mtn pack load. Natural Bridge, Bantry bay track, over to Spit Bridge, Coast track to Manly wharf, then cut from North Harbour reserve passed Hugh S's place and Bantry Bay track home (forestville oval option).

Very similar run to one I did with Rob & Damon almost exaclty 2 years ago (without the extra Bantry Bay then). Reasonably up tempo for most of it - running time about 20min quicker this time (factoring in the variations & stoppages from last time).

Ride with the kids after good leg loosener. Special mention to the Australia Day picnic, consisting of punters in a large inflatable swimming pool floating around Narrabeen lake.
