Early morning Akuna, Church Point loop with Darvo. Impressive amount of water across the road despite the fact it wasnt raining. Must have bucketed last night. Back at Forestway Darvo noticed he had a thumtack in his tyre, but had somehow stayed up.


Bike crash of the day goes to Thomas who rode up a half metre high lip on a skateboard park at Galston, with intentions to roll down corresponding lip on the other side. Unfortunately the other side was in fact a vertical drop, leading to a rather scary endo using his chin to break his fall. Nice bruise, and huge respect from all the teenage skater boys there.

Akuna loop anti-clockwise from parent's house. Fartlek type action on the way back to try and wake the cycling legs a bit.

The advantage of the use-it-or-lose-it approach to scheduling training sessions is that it helps overcome the cbf's. The disadvantage is that sometimes you find yourself riding around Akuna Bay in the middle of a deluging thunderstorm, when most all other times of the day were sunny and pleasant.

Running late, took the direct route. Training hours are going to take a hit from having a faster commute.

Reasonably solid ride via North Sydney to make school by 6pm. Just scraped in.

Late ride in, as had to collect Annika from swimming.

Didn't realise how slow the old commuter is. 5min quicker on the new bike for a 45min ride.

The detritus of a stressful work day spun slowly away in the pleasure of riding a new bike. Relxaed and cheerful by the time I got home.

Ease back in to the gym for first time in yonks. Miserly 3*5 chins.

Normally perving is a subtle activity at the gym. But when one of the regular trainers walked out of the changeroom not in her black tracskuit, but tiny denim shorts, a teeny sparkly bra, 6 inch platform stilletos and started to practice her bodysculpting competition routine in front of the mirror, the entire weights section froze with dropped jaws.

Rolled in. Easy blob week on the agenda.

Finished with test ride of new commuter bike options. Kona Phd seems to tick the right boxes.

Not a lot of room for error in the busy schedule that we juggle.
- Busy at work + Cradle Mtn recovery + Migraine = Tired me
- Tired Me + Thomas birthday party = tired Katrin.
- Tired Katrin = fall asleep on bus and miss stop. So collect hungry kids (complete with saxophone etc) from after school on foot, but no car to get home. Raining.
- Riding home, notice Bruno sitting in Castle Cove. Wtf? Notice phone has been in silent mode with collection of missed calls.
- Hurry back to my car, throw the bike on the roof and dash to collect for family.
- Discover next morning that in the rush, left front wheel on the footpath. Went to check, but wheel gone.
Doh....
