Running 2:45:00 [3]

Ouch. Headed out in the heat about 5pm on sunday evening towards Bantry Bay. Felt pretty ordinary from the start, but plodded along patiently waiting to come 'good'. Struggled up the stairs to Seathforth oval(unpleasantly hot) and started to suspect that I wasn't going to come 'good' which wasn't particularly pleasing.

Down to Manly dam and up the middle walking track to Aquatic Centre, then home to collect Katrin for the last hour.

Chugged an icy fanta, then headed on to a river loop with Katrin. Wifey proceeded to hurt me for the next half hour, until the hill took the sing out of her legs, and I took the opportunity to return the favour for the last quarter of an hour.

More enjoyable was the snorkelling down at Manly in the morning - I didn't realise how colourful it was down there around Fairy Bower, some rather impressive blue gropers moping about amongst other colourful creatures. Steve Irwin has a bit to answer for - when a sting-ray swam underneath, I was half-drowned by Annika climbing on to my back.

Kayak 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Mako 6

Early morning spin from Fisherman's up to North Narrabeen and back with Katrin on the singles. More bump and breeze out there than it looked from the car park.

Cycling 1:40:00 [3]

Hot and dry evening Akuna loop, with an honourable mention for 2 hours of heavy rock lifting in the afternoon. Got a flat, fixed it, got another flat near home, called Katrin for a lift rather than patch it. Soft.

Kayak 50:00 [3] 8.9 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Viper K1

Nice to be feeling OK again. Morning pipeline spin. Rather pleasant to be on the water despite a lowish tide and light rain.

After a week on the skis, the K1 felt a bit wobbly at first but settled OK. Cruisy up-stream, then gradually lifted the tempo on the way back down. Top 2km shallow for some resistance training - and a chance to run up the arse of a respectably-sized weird flute fish type thing.

Boat-ramp busy at this time of year, particularly since the upgrade. Even a bloke there with a coffee van at 6:30am. Feels very odd when you're used to the place being deserted. Darwin award to the guy whose boat was leaking petrol in to the water on the ramp while he happily smoked on a cigarette.

Home to freshly squeezed orange juice and espresso from a freshly opened bag of beans - mmmmm.

Running 35:00 [3]

Opera House loop. Decent clip with a Henry interval to stretch the stride out on the way back. 2:31 - suprisingly good leg speed for the training Ive been doing, but would have struggled to knock out a full set.

Thought about going to the gym, but had a laksa instead. Still not quite back to full strength.

Cycling 55:00 [3]

Back to work. Urgh. Was a cracker of a week away.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

Zipped home in time to head up to the oval and throw some balls at Annika. Having someone to play catch with is one of the main reasons for having kids I reckon. (Finished with a little HTFU lesson, when a ball ricocheted off her bat and up in to her face - oops)
