Running 3:53:00 [3] 34.3 km (6:48 / km)
Run with Oxfam buddies Jono & Chris (Bull) from Forestville up to the Sphinx and back.
Suprised to see Bull (who some may remember from SLWC earlier this year) turn up having finished his run to Melbourne just over a week ago. Very suprised to see Bull running well on Melbourne legs. Gave up being suprised when Bull started running so much better than previous outings he dropped Jono on the hills. Jono ran 11:09 in the North Face 100 recently (although I think he's been on a bit of a beer program since then).
Beautiful day for a run. Steady, consistent pace with a regular stream of Trailwalker trainees putting in some training miles. Legs were feeling good.
Amusing incident of the run was just after the Cascades on the return journey. Came across a team of 4 rather attractive girls who joined us for a bit of a chat as we ran. The other lads, clearly more practiced at being suave than I managed to subtly drop in to the conversation that they were first home in Trailwalker last year, and Chris was just back from running to Melbourne. End result was running together for half an hour, during which time the girls (combination of rowers and nurses) told of their recent fundraising evening - they arranged a speed-dating evening with 35 of their female friends and raised $3K. Turned off back to the car, with Bull getting in an invite for the lasses to come to our forthcoming fundraising do. Funny.
Best anecdote of the run. The other guy joining us for Oxfam ran the first couple of km at North Face with the French guns. In a beautiful piece of sledging, one of the french chaps asked him after a couple of minutes 'vhy are you breezing zo hard?".
