Running 35:30 [3]

Spent the morning sailing with Annika, then squeezed in a Killarney loop in the afternoon before hitting the cricket nets with the kids.

As my cough is still not completely gone, I headed out in barefoot shoes*, based on the theory it would slow things down and keep the heartrate low. Suprised how much fun it was dancing around on the rocks, and not too slow either. Fun.

* they are the Merrell variant that look like a normal shoe, not the stupid toe finger things. And yes. Thailand kick-boxing. Barefoot trail-running. The mid-life crisis is coming along nicely.

Kayak 2:00:00 [3]

Out on the harbour watching Tom sailing in the MJ states. Started at the Spit, and paddled out around Grotto to the course off Dobroyd. Would have been quite the learning experience for the kids, as the wind was decent and the swell was up a bit.

As the boat traffic increased in the afternoon, the kids also go to learn about the rules of sailing right of way. ie. when on starboard tack and larger yacht approaches your little boat on port, your right of way does not apply until to you call "f*ck off you big, arrogant d*ckhead".

On the water for 3.5hrs, paddling for a decent chunk of it. Thirsty by the end.

Cycling 45:00 [3]

Tentative return to the bike, with a very easy roll in to North Sydney. Knees spent the first quarter of an hour wondering what the hell was going on, but loosened up OK by the end. Suprised to find birds still bombing this late in the year.

Cycling 45:00 [3]

Quicker roll home. Feeling stronger than in the morning.

Whacking 1:20:00 [3]

Still got a bit of a cough, but going nuts doing nothing exercise wise.

Apparently I have to kick thru' a piece of wood in a couple of weeks. I was taught the technique this evening, which consists of an awesome ninja-style front jump kick. (Awesome, if you don't have runner hammies).

Slight mishap when I was holding the pads for a young bloke. He got his angle a bit wrong and knocked me off balance, and I rolled on my rear foot. Kind of like an ankle roll, but more on the toes. Woke up this morning with a purple toe, and difficulty walking. Whoops.
