That's more like it. After falling asleep while putting the kids to bed and banking 11hrs sleep, headed out for a 4 gorges feeling quite fresh.

Worked my way in the ride, feeling good for the first time since the 60k mark in honkers about 5 weeks ago. Theme for the day was cadence rather than muscle, qnd found a nice rythm.

Got thru to the ferry in 1:37, then copped a long wait. Grr. Maintained a nice tempo without going silly on the hills and legs stayed good for the rest of the day. Finished in 4:03 elapsed, which is a gorges PB and 25min quicker than 2 weeks ago - and felt easier.

A remember how to MTB ride with a loop thru the cascades. Stopped early to adjust saddle position, then stopped later to adjust back where it was. Steady and relaxed.

Wildlife count 2 wallabies and a chicken.

Steady meander to North Sydney from the school after dropping off Annika. More settled on the wildlife front today with only a brush turkey to contend with (those things will reach the CBD soon at the rate they are moving).

Me: Annika hurry up, time to go.
A: I'm still doing my hair, Im having a bad hair day.
Me: You should cut it short, I never have bad hair days.
A: You have a bad hair day every day.....no offence.

Earlier ride home than expected due to someone leaving their keys in the city, and needing a car for the afternoon taxi shuffle.

Just tired at the moment. Plod.

Evening trot with Annika up at Melwood, as school cross country is next week. Did 6 * 500m @ 5min/k in my hippie shoes. With a solid collection of Annika's friends amongst all the sports teams out for Thursday evening training, it was a very social run. Most enjoyable.

Ran from near the gym after dropping the kids off. Down thru the Dam to Manly Beach, then around the harbour foreshore return. Slow, meaningless rubbish on the running front but a nice evening.

Bit of a Steve Irwin week apparently. After the big fish yesterday, had to do an 'air step' over a black snake today. Will watch out for wildebeest tomorrow.

Lunchtime spin from Roseville Bridge up to the pipeline on a very pleasant sunny afternoon. Was enjoying the smooooth glide in the wobbly boat - i reckon it has about 30sec/km on the ski, until i hit the shallows for some resistance training due to a very low tide up the top.

Interesting 'moment' on the way back. About 2k up from the bridge I noticed what looked like a stick in the water just off the port bow. The 'stick' caught my attention when it started to wriggle in a most unstick-like manner. I glanced down right next to the boat and as the tide was very low with a sandy bottom I got a decent look at the 'stick'. Not impressed to see that it was in fact a "very fucking big grey creature" that appeared to be having a nap in the middle of the river. Balance practice!

Phew, that was hard work. A reminder that ive been bludging a bit the last few. Stomach copped a bit of a pounding today.
