Running 1:52:00 [3]

Early morning run from my place to Lindfield oval and back with Andy. A cruisy, chatty run until Andy rolled his ankle. Short pause, then we continued to cruise and chat about Andy's ankle.

Kayak 1:00:00 [3]

Dropped Annika at softball training and snuk off for a spin on the Stellar SES at Narrabeen. Bit choppier than yesterday.

Funny boat to try and describe. Very stable in that it is not easy to fall out, but feels 'busy' in the rough. (ie great secondary stability, but twitchy on the primary). Doesn't pick up runs as well as the Fenns, and didn't like the feel upwind. Having said all that, whenever I looked at the GPS I thought "really?". Surpsingly quick on flattish water.

Kayak (Small person surf-ski tes) 1:35:00 [3]

Boat test paddle from Fishermans. Mmm toys. Once again, a glorious day for tooling around off Narrabeen. May is certainly making up for summer.

Managed to get hold of a Stellar SES ski and the 'aussie' Fenn elite - both supposedly designed for paddlers who aren't 120kg South African behemoths. The Stellar is a genuine smaller volume ski, while the Fenn has had the seat moved forward a bit to the 'normal' Elite.

Boats very different to each other. Stellar suprisingly quick for its stability on flattish water, but the Fenn definitely does a better job in waves.

Caught an absolute boomer of a wave coming around Long Reef. Big ocean roller held up by the offshore breeze that went for a loooong way. Disturbingly good fun.

Running 2:52:00 [3] 31.5 km (5:28 / km)

Straight from the water to Tom's rugby, kebab on the way home and then out for a run.

Thru' Manly Dam down to the beach, then home around the Manly/Spit walk. Kebab probably not the best refuel option as I ate my stash of muesli bars after about 3k, then had to draw on the emergency $10 to buy an Icy Twist on the way thru' Clontarf.

Cycling 45:30 [3]

Wow. Not sure what happened here. No plans for a solid ride, but let fresh feeling legs set the tempo - without going in to the uncomfortable zone. Got to the office much quicker than it felt - in the order of 5 minutes under par. Genuinely surprised. Rewarded legs with an extra coffee.

Cycling 50:00 [3]

Bit more perky than last night's plod home. Nice little warm-up kicking a footy on the front lawn with the boy.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

Plan was for a hard ride home, but I kept forgetting and found myself dropping back to cruising speed as the mind wandered. Bit of a mixed bag in the end.

Dig out the long fingered gloves and buff. Chilly!

Cycling 55:00 [3]

Hunger flat on the way home. Stopped for a chocolate bar.
