Running 32:00 [3] 8.0 km (4:00 / km)

Spontaneous camping trip to Wingello for the weekend with kids, MTBs and dog just for the hell of it.

Used the O map to find a nice clearing away from the main camp site, and enjoyed a cracker of an isolated evening under the stars...complete with Maxi deciding it was his job to 'keep an eye on things' and look after us.

By complete fluke, come Sunday morning the Southern Highlands MTB club turned up to the same clearing for a club race....most pleased to find a nice roaring fire ready for them, with a nice little MTB race for us in return.

I ran the 8k loop behind Tom, while Katrin was convinced to ride A grade. I had to bolt to keep up, and ended up with a very solid half hour session for the trouble. Fun,

Took the dog for an hour's stroll thru' the pines, and then jumped on Katrin's bike for a hot lap. First time Ive ridden her scalpel on real singletrack. Amazed by the difference in agility to mine - I think the smaller frame helps. Way fun.

Sensational weekend.

Running 1:05:00 [3]

30 reps on Woolloomoolloo stairs with Jono (he did 40). 29.5 to be precise. I ran in to Jock Davis on the last one, and took it as an excellent excuse to stop and chat.

Interesting sport's story follow-up this morning. I logged a track intervals session 2 weeks ago at Homebush. Did some laps while Annika did a Javelin training session. As it had been raining heavily, the track was empty for the most part, except for the school javelin coach (a lass in her 20's) with Annika and the year 11 chick who was doing her last training session before heading off to the Youth World champs in the Ukraine. A happy group of young lasses in the rain with beat box under an umbrella for some training groove.

Anyhoo, turns out this morning the Year 11 chick won the world champs with a 10m PB on her last throw. Ties in nicely with the Ashton Agar vibe.

Oh yeah, and just saw a note in the paper that a dead body was found on my local running track. Surprising how often that's happened over the years.

Running 1:05:00 [3]

8 * 400s at Rushy with Jono on 2min. Left hammie still had a bit of a tight spot after warming up. Probably shouldn't have done intervals, but was nice to get out of the office for a spin.

Cycling 2:00:00 [3]

Cruisy morrning commute, followed by a late, cold and hungry ride home.

Hammies a bit sore from the weekend's stretching out.
